Having met Anne and hearing her speak, I was humbled by her strength and fighting spirit. @fbunational and all FBU members must fight to ensure presumptive legislation is the next step to honour Jeff and the many firefighters who have lost their lives through serving others.
Anne Simpson is turning unimaginable grief into a campaign for change.
Jeff devoted his life to protecting others. His death from cancer has now been recognised as an industrial disease caused by his work as a firefighter.
The @fbunational is proud to stand with Anne. We’re fighting for better protection, health monitoring and, ultimately, presumptive legislation so as firefighters and our families we get the recognition, support and compensation we deserve.
Jeff’s death, and the deaths of so many other firefighters, must not be in vain. We owe it to them, their families and every firefighter who follows to make the job safer.

We are very proud of our members who answered the call and assisted. Spending precious time away from families and loved ones.
We are now calling for them to be paid at the agreed NJC Grey Book rate of pay for this deployment - like other services have done for their staff. – at Melton Mowbray, England

A lesson in tenacity! The justice campaigns, led by the very brave Hillsborough families and survivors, are an example to us all of what can be achieved through commitment, principle and solidarity. ‘Hillsborough Law’ will be a potent weapon for all who are fighting for justice.

Nominations for FBU President must be returned by 30th July. Has your regional committee heard from both candidates? If not, get in touch and we'll provide availability. In an election this important, it's vital everyone get the chance to speak with and question all candidates.
