Both my personal and professional brands got a major rebrand at the start of the year.
1) unmatte.com the cultural creative hub for the industry creatives that WE admire. A real tastemakers collective / creative agency coz we’re still adding shine to brands.

Deep breath…
So there’s a pastor whose wife introduced his second wife over the pulpit and announced that they’re in a polygamous relationship…. In the year of our Lord Savior 2026.
And now I keep seeing, “Why is everybody upset? Polygamy is biblical”post 😭 but yall just because something was written or noted in the Bible doesn’t make it holy.
And I get it… it’s not a secret that Jacob had more than one wife, David, Solomon…
But nobody talks about how Jacob was tricked into marrying two women… No one talks about how David’s need to have multiple women led to adultery and murder and later incest and later, a son killing another AND attempting to kill David, and later killed in battle by David’s warriors…
We never unpack Solomon and his many wives and how it turned him away from God, and because of that his kingdom legacy was split and fell… Because the Bible says his wives turned his heart toward other gods.
So why do we keep mentioning how many women they had without mentioning where the story went…
And let me acknowledge this the Old Testament contains laws regulating households with multiple wives. I’m not going to pretend those passages don’t exist. But explaining what was permitted and regulated in ancient Israel doesnt settle what Christ said in the New Testament or the responsibilities of a pastor.
Because that’s the part people keep skipping.
We are talking about a PASTOR.
Which 1st Timothy 3:2 and Titus 1:6 identify as the husband of one wife as a qualification for church leadership. The same passage requires self control and a life above reproach.
So how are we reaching for Solomon and David while stepping over the passage addressing the very office this man holds?
And more than anything, this comes down to FINAL AUTHORITY.
When Christ spoke about marriage in Matthew 19:4–6, He spoke of a man joined to his wife. Singular. And He said the TWO become ONE flesh.
So why are we searching through everybody else’s life for permission to move away from what Christ taught?
Because if you call Him Lord, His teaching has to carry more authority over your life than the behavior of somebody else you read about.
You can’t keep reaching for David’s example while ignoring Christ’s instruction. You can’t keep pointing to Solomon’s wives while overlooking where those relationships led him.
And at some point, you have to ask yourself am I following Christ, or am I following whichever person in Scripture makes room for what I already want?
Because if David’s choices carry more weight with you than Christ’s words, David has become the example and the god you obey. If Solomon’s relationships give you permission to dismiss what Christ taught, Solomon has become your idol of authority.
And you have to wrestle with the fact that you’ve chosen a man over the teaching of the One you call Lord.
Because if Christ led us back to original intent of marriage as singular TWO becoming ONE… who really has the final authority?
And why is His word not enough for you?
