I rage against the mundane, against the drudgery of monotony and routine. I crave brilliance, intensity and audacity. I must catch lightening in a bottle or be enraptured in the thrill that comes with trying, I live to defy the dull weight of predictability.

pretty much every major ai company now has a personal agent product except google: meta → muse anthropic → duet openai → dots spacex → bots slowly but surely the competition is shifting from who has the smartest model to who owns the persistent relationship with the user. this will be even more the case going forward. you're seeing this because we likely reached peak intelligence required to power most of the worlds workflows probably earlier this year if not late last year.

You can now place your bets on where you think Emil is going next, after 2 brilliant years at Linear.
This is my last week at Linear. It was a privilege to work with such a talented team for the last two years. Here are a few of my favorite things I helped create during my time here:

In craft, the process is as valuable as the output. Apple shines here.
Go behind the scenes of Made by Sound. A story of music, collaboration and craft with @fredagainagain1 and NEST Acoustics. Discover how sound brought the Apple Music logo to life, captured entirely in camera. Just music, made visible.

Designers don’t know the work waiting for them with all these (new) breakpoints 😂
the main complaint with the iPhone Duo seems to be app optimisation which is understandable

He is either going to Anthropic or OpenAI, and it was simply a matter of time. OpenAI seems to care for craft much more so I lean towards OAI.

Notice how the two logos sit side by side, retaining their individual identities in white while remaining legible against an image background. Logo design is beautiful.

ENDSARS LEKKI TOLL GATE: NEVER FORGET OCTOBER 20, 2020 Today, October 20, 2026, marks the sixth anniversary of the Lekki Toll Gate shootings, a painful reminder of the price Nigerian youths paid in their demand for a better country. On that fateful night, peaceful #EndSARS protesters were met with gunfire. Lives were lost, many were injured, and the nation was left with questions about justice, accountability, and the sanctity of human life. We must never forget. We must never normalise injustice. As we remember the victims, I reaffirm my belief that a New Nigeria is possible—a country where citizens are protected, not brutalised; where young people are heard, not silenced; and where government power is exercised with responsibility and respect for human rights. Nigeria must become a nation where no citizen is punished for demanding good governance and a better future. May the souls of the departed continue to rest in peace. May their sacrifice strengthen our resolve to build a Nigeria where this tragedy will never be repeated. A New Nigeria is POssible. A Nigeria where every life matters. -PO

I had a feeling it came from you when I saw it, I am glad I wasn’t wrong.
Me and @haris_chc had so much fun working on the visual identity for @firstofkind season 3. Here's a bunch of drafts from the exploration phase:

Someone could probably write a book (if they haven’t already) about the cycle of technology productizing the removal of friction in the name of convenience only for us to discover that the friction was a load-bearing part of the social compact.
Someone told me he thinks dating apps are bad because they let you access connection without having any motion in your life. Normally meeting people requires going out into the world, entering new scenes and navigating unfamiliar situations. You have to be living a life that brings you into contact with other people. Dating apps let you order connection without doing any of that work

🚨MY OPINIONS ON THIS : everyone’s saying the bar has been raised, and designers are wondering if they now need to make a whole film to get hired. tbh, i get why it feels that way, but i don’t think that’s the right takeaway. i think people are mixing up two things here: getting hired as a designer and getting people to pay attention to you as a designer. the film is an incredible piece of creative work, and her brother’s @vikpat filmmaking deserves a lot of credit too. but the film is almost a trailer for the actual product: @_darshi design work. most people are reacting to the trailer, and probably far fewer have gone through the portfolio itself. that’s not a criticism...distribution matters, especially in a crowded job market. a great portfolio nobody sees can lose to good work presented in a way people remember. the film gets her through the door; the work still has to hold up once she’s in the room. i just hope people don’t turn this into another hiring benchmark. not everyone has a filmmaker sibling, the time, or the budget to produce a four-minute film. the lesson isn’t that every designer needs to make one. it’s that getting good at the work and getting the work noticed are two different skills.
