Harry Kane. Worthy winner of the ballon d'or. 73 goals last season for club & country! Fantastic role model for kids. Had to work hard, overcame nasty injuries and never gave up. Married his childhood sweetheart. A family man and by all accounts a thoroughly nice chap. Well done.

Football is hard to love right now.
You wait 3 weeks for it to return, only to watch your side succumb due to a combination of injuries sustained on international duty, an inept refereeing performance and ultimately lose against a team that shouldn’t even be allowed to play.
Might be a Kevin Keegan moment (God rest his soul) but I will love seeing these City players have the smug grins wiped off their faces when they’re kicked out of the league in disgrace and all of their “victories” deleted. Their fans are acting like they’re the victims. Fuck off.
This is what happens when you put a Manchester ref in charge of the game. One who’s been paid for going to the Middle East to referee. One whose brother is a Man City season ticket holder. The refs need to be kicked out along with City.
Pundits reactions to Ryan Gravenberch's red card against Man City #LFC
Peter Schmeichel : “He knows he's got a yellow card and to give him a second yellow for that? I think that's really wrong, and that's a refereeing mistake.”
Freddie Ljungberg : “I think it's very harsh. Definitely it's a free kick, but that does not have to be a second yellow in this fixture.”
Jamie Carragher: “It's barely a foul. It's a shocking decision.”
Gary Neville: “It was very soft.”
Micah Richards: “That is soft. How is that a yellow card? I don't understand.”
Roy Keane: “I don't see how he can get a yellow card for that.”
Daniel Sturridge: “It’s never been a yellow. The first one is a joke.”

How long is the stench of the “sham” going to corrode the meaning, worth, and very essence of the Premier League?
Listening to commentary about Manchester City’s players matching the defiance of their ownership and triumphing in adversity.
Listening to fans chorusing the names of the men running the club, wearing masks or displaying banners of their faces and jibing: “We’re Man City, we’ll cheat when we want.”
Victory being framed as “a lovely moment,” a show of togetherness as though some grave injustice has been imposed on City, rather than their hierarchy being found by an independent commission to have orchestrated financial doping on an industrial scale.
Their opponents and the rest of us wondering if any of this actually matters now and how much of it ever did?
There can be no business as usual pretence. We need a full stop to the absurdity.

👏🔴 Ex-Liverpool goalkeeping coach John Achterberg pulled no punches on Man City's guilty verdict.
He told The Athletic: "We were sat there thinking: ‘How can City spend so much?'.
"I remember we played them at Wembley and there was a big banner covering thousands of seats as they couldn’t sell out their allocation.
"Their fanbase is nowhere near as big as Liverpool’s, but their commercial revenues were higher. It made no sense."
