the best AI thing I set up this month is boring: a @viktor_com 'employee' in our slack that: - gives me a morning brief - researches and qualifies inbound leads - manages todos and projects org wide non-technical teammates pick up using Viktor super quick too management is the first job I'd hand to AI

things that were supposed to kill agencies: - wix - shopify - canva - meta's open targeting - chatgpt agencies are still here doing it yourself gets you 50%. a specialist gets you 90%+ owners pay for the gap!

the AI agency 'job' in 2027: auditing the business: AI does most of it building the system: AI does most of it getting the team to use it: still takes months, still needs a human guess which one the money is moving to?

watched google's gemini at work launch live with my CTO what it means if you run a business: 1. you can run claude inside gemini. "what if we're locked into their models" is dead 2. every agent gets its own work email. you cc it like an employee 3. spend caps per project. you can finally see what AI cost vs what it made 4. skills + connectors + agents ship as plugins. the new app store 5. I said give google 3-6 months to answer openai. they took a week google is the one to beat

4 years building AI for businesses. what I'd tell 2022 me: 1. an AI build that looks 80% done is 20% done 2. sell the result not the features 3. learn to build with a coding agent until it's boring 4. run your own company on whatever you sell 5. go in person to your clients took me way too long to learn #1

"why would business owners pay you for x when they can do it themselves with y?" after every big AI launch these questions always pop back up... selling AI isn't going anywhere. example: meta ads went through this when I started running them (2019) I picked interests, built ad sets and tested strategies by hand. by the time I got out, open targeting beat anything I could set up people still pay agencies to run meta ads doing it yourself gets you a 50% result. a specialist gets you 90 or 95 I pay a youtube agency for the same reason. I could hire an editor and a thumbnail guy and do the strategy myself when it's a key part of the business, owners pay for the gap

chatgpt's business platform is the best news AI agencies have had this year 1. you can onboard the whole company. in a 7-day build I mostly get the founder and a couple of people at the top 2. the stack stops moving under you. on every makeover a new tool or model drops and we rebuild the next time 3. the labs build the hard tech underneath. you don't 4. what's left is what clients pay for: setup, strategy, training, and changing how the team works 5. you set it up, train the team, and check in once a quarter clients always paid for the result. how clever your code was never came into it

I spent sunday setting up chatgpt's new business platform live my takeaways: 1. the admin console is the real launch. permissions, roles, audit logs, agent runs, usage by person. that's the hardest part of every client build I do 2. dots don't come with the $25 seat. I had to go to $125 a month to get one 3. my dot got stuck after a couple of clicks... the job was checking if my haircut clashed with a call. 4. Slack integration was easy and is one of my favorite interfaces for client builds 5. Spaces and pages could be a replacement for GitHub based content management systems. I had codex move my company docs from github into spaces 6. seat based model + spaces makes for easy onboarding and scoping of new team members. a new hire gets a content space, not my whole repo openai has the lead on business AI platforms right now. imo google has the best shot at a reply
