This is one of the most out of touch posts I've ever come across. Just decent paint is way more expensive than this. A quality job will call for much more that 4 gallons. I would encourage painting the room yourself then come back and complain about the quote.

Just got quoted $2,400 to paint a 23 by 13 foot living room. The 4 gallons of paint it takes to do the job costs about $110 at Home Depot, or around $160 if you want Sherwin Williams. This is not a particularly skilled job. You went to trade school, not medical school. You own a brush and a roller. Stop ripping people off, contractors.

THE PRESTIGE turns 20 today. Christopher Nolan cast David Bowie as Tesla after being told the musician rarely accepted acting roles. Nolan personally approached Bowie, who initially declined before Nolan convinced him he was the only person for the part.
