Not going anywhere until the servers stop paying for themselves, and even then I’ll keep them up and running as long as I can afford it. The community has been so good to me over the years that even if it’s over I want to be around for those that keep playing.
While we're taking the time to rethink previous decisions @Bungie, truly believe Marathon needs at least some API access.
I know the value of the Destiny API has been doubted in your halls for some time, but I think it's hard to understate how much player engagement value the API community has generated for Destiny over the years. You're running on the same engine, you've got the PGCRs for Marathon too, just let us help man.
Is protecting the "meta" of a game that only has 5k people more valuable than the engagement your community could generate?

Destiny 2, all APIs, and Bungie Websites are being brought offline for expected maintenance. Destiny 1 may be impacted.
REMAINING TIMELINE
❖ Downtime End: ~2 PM PST (-8 UTC)
❖ Maintenance End: ~3 PM
Bad news for everyone asking Claude to make light.gg but for Marathon I suppose
Not to pile onto the doom train but they’re going to have to do some serious cooking to expect people to come back for a Major Update (not expansion) after 6 months of no new content.
Our next Major Update, Destiny 2: Shadow and Order, is undergoing large revisions and will be delayed.
This update is being changed and expanded to include sizable quality-of-life updates and as a result, will also be renamed. This update will now launch on June 9, 2026. We will provide exact details closer to release covering previously announced Weapon Tier Upgrading, but also additions like expanding Tiered Gear to all Raid and Dungeon activities, Pantheon 2.0, Tier 5 stats for Exotic Armors, and more.
Through June, we will continue to have routine bug fixes and stability improvements, continued portal modifiers, Guardian Games (March), and the return of a more frequent Iron Banner cadence (April).
In terms of communications, we will be focusing on providing you with updates about our live game content, community activations, and general upkeep through the TWID and our Destiny social channels.
