It's like 50/50 because they are genuine platonic enjoyers but also there are people who use the guise of platonic relationships to hate on ships that have poc and/or are queer. Really people need to just be less close-minded and more respectful of others at the end of the day.

i think one big issue with fandoms is that they genuinely do not like platonic relationships and will stone you for viewing two characters as friends as if that makes their bond less ‘deep’
