hello friends, a quick update for y'all. i'm joining @fomo to lead perps. i've been trading for a decade now and have shared most of my market thoughts publicly here. to me, markets are one of the purest expressions of human behavior, where information, attention, and conviction converge into price. trading has always been inherently social, and i've spent nearly every day of the last six years on twitter and telegram exchanging ideas with fellow speculators. but still, no one has quite figured out how to build a truly great social trading platform that actually helps traders trade. it's a deceptively difficult problem to solve. we live in a world where more people than ever are attracted to convex outcomes. information is abundant, access to markets is becoming pretty commoditized, and people are becoming more opinionated about everything. but more information and more markets alone don't make better traders. what is now more scarce is judgment, or alpha: knowing what matters, how the best traders think, and when to act. the next great trading app won't just compete on execution, but on intelligence. a network where people discover ideas, build conviction, and sharpen their edge through others. most people see fomo today as an app for trading memes. onchain proved just how deeply markets are driven by attention, narratives, and social behavior. these same forces exist across equities, commodities, and anything else people can form an opinion on. what fomo has built for the trenches is the foundation for bringing that same social experience to every asset class. the opportunity is to build a network where the world discovers, discusses, and trades everything. as an early investor and advisor of fomo, my conviction has only grown in both the vision and people committed to it. the goal isn't simply to let everyone trade perps but to build a network that makes everyone trading them better. it's a difficult problem to solve. one life. it’s worth an attempt. - hdf

love to see this in the community
since i’ve been printing some insane PnL on @fomo and dominating the 24h / 7d / 30d leaderboards, holding that #1 spot for days straight. i figured it’s time to give something back. decided to bless one random user with $1,000, and the @fomo team is matching it with an extra $500. $1,500 total. straight back to the trenches. gotta give back to the community that’s been part of the journey. gratz @imsatoshi100 only on @fomo.

Introducing the fastest crosschain swaps on the market. Crosschain transactions on @fomo now land in <1s. A week ago, we rolled out our own internal bridge to a small % of users. Public rollout of fomo bridge begins now.

True story Rise and grind
Maurits says he always thought he was a hard worker until he joined fomo and realized that no matter how early he gets to the office or how late he leaves, half the team is still there working. Maurits: “I always thought I was a hard worker, and I really put in long shifts. But I like to arrive at the office a little bit later, and I’ll leave at like 8 or 9 p.m., and half the team is still there. Right now the office is too small, so you have people sitting on the ground with their laptops. The environment is electric. Everyone is working hard, everyone is super competent, and it’s very founder-led. Even the founders are sitting right next to the rest of the team. They don’t have their own corner suite or anything. The energy is very much unmatched.”

Can anyone also tell me why it’s the slowest app in existence? Each page takes like 2-3 seconds to load
I wish I owned Goodreads. It has SO MUCH potential. Yet, sucks in so many basic ways. Has the hardest part: tons of great reviews and a good community. Everything else...horrible. Search, list making, claude integration, so many more.

It’s not about the launch, it’s about how you iterate Stay lean
Se Yong admits @fomo 's launch day was so dead that 8 of the 10 traders were @fomo employees "It was so anticlimactic that, you know, I just don't remember the day at all." "Nobody joined. It was this very slow thing where we had 10 traders and maybe eight of them were FOMO employees." "Something is telling the market that the product is not good enough. So how do you get it to be good enough? And we just obsessively focus on making the product better time and time again."

We've come a long way from the proof of concept I came up with a year ago. Thankfully we have much better frontend engineers than me at fomo
Mobile trade replays and profile leaderboard badges now live on fomo

During this period we've had the same 5 engineers. We are shipping 60x more lines of code than we did per week in March
During this period we had the same 3 engineers 😁
