what a deranged thing to say. i don't want to defend Geller in any capacity but this reads too much like 'we didn't get the chance to tar and feather him'. does the victim deserve any consideration in all of this? what energies and thoughts are concentrated there?
he didnt deny, he cooperated with the investigation, he's disclosed it to people in his life (who can object if this is not the case). even if this is for the benefit of the public, which is fair suspicion to have, as a public facing statement itself it is a good benchmark.
"successful" doesn't mean "good"
people are so daft. do you think the state is the sword of heaven? that it's delivering justice and vengeance all the time? they tried twice and failed. whatever remains of her life is torture. should the state have that power? they do already but to co-sign it...is a choice
Im gonna lose moots for this but idgaf:
Her victim didnt get a stay of execution. So she shouldnt get one either. She knew what she was doing and wore a piece of her victims skull as decoration and a trophy. She also attacked and tried to STRANGLE SOMEONE ELSE IN JAIL!!! Fuck her. She WILL reoffend.
he's clearly remorseful and not really upset at it going public save for the fact that it could violate his victim's privacy. i do think he understands that this thing forever chasing him is a part of the continuous process of repentance. i do not feel sorry
i have some thoughts and i don't really know how to put them across. but, mostly, how do we rehabilitate people who have caused harm or even begin to think of justice, transformation w/o reproducing ineffective and inhumane carceral and surveillance structures
