remembering last year in brazil when lando was so clear of everyone that his q1 time would’ve been good enough for pole
it’s funny to me how piastri incidents always generate debate, point blank ahead at the apex is bullshit but he does know the rules so. verstappen does it best & while it’s annoying to watch it separates his racecraft from norris who goes conservative & piastri who eats penalties
congrats to kimi he’s driven a brilliant season and Toto’s right he’s changed what being champion means. I personally prefer ruthless selfish win at all costs champions like Hamilton, verstappen, and the most incessantly evil of all, Norris. 2027 it’s on.
At the end of his post-race media briefing @MercedesAMGF1 Toto Wolff gave an unprompted overview of what makes Kimi Antonelli's success so special. You must read his words: "This notion of win at all costs, selfish, opportunistic, ruthless for your own benefit - that model of racing driver has died. We have a new champion that represents values like humility, like integrity, loyalty, respect, being himself, and should be a role model for many other young drivers in junior formulas, and should be a role model for the few entitled ones in F1, the endless moaners on the radio, the ones that complain, the ones that crash.
"Look at this kid of 20 years, and then think what you can do in order to improve. That's the message to these kids. That is how the FIA, that's how Mohammed, and Stefano, that's how I would want to see racing drivers in the future. That is modern F1. Kimi represents the modern F1 driver because of those values, not only because of his talent.
"That comes, but the talent is there in everyone. But you've got to be a good person too, and he has demonstrated that you can beat everyone out there by being a good person."

Alan Permane, VCARB Team Principal: A long and tough day today. Arvid drove an absolutely superb race and has had a fantastic weekend overall. He nailed the start and continued to chip away gaining two, three, even four tenths a lap, all while managing his tyres. The crash with Piastri was an unfortunate end to an exemplary weekend and it’s a small consolation that Oscar received a penalty.
Liam also had a challenging race. The penalty from qualifying put us on the back foot, but we took the opportunity to fit a fresh power unit, which he would have needed to take at some point this season anyway. With Alpine’s penalty, Liam ultimately finished seventh, having started from the pitlane, which is an incredible effort and a great result for the team.
We leave today with some valuable points and plenty of positives to take forward as we head to Brazil next week to close out the triple header. #MexicoGP #VCARB #F1

he literally did all those thing this year WHEN IT WAS APPROPRIATE!! he pulled a switchback on MV in miami, divebombed AKA in hungary and went around the outside in Zandvoort. when he has confidence in the car he can do all those things but at the moment it would be suicidal
