Told my 16 yr old, 6ft 8” son that I’d tweet @petercrouch and he said “it’s not as if he’s gonna reply and say where he gets jeans to fit is he?!” 😂😂

👍🏻 Pickford is a massive reason why England can’t keep the ball cos he’s obsessed with just hoofing it as far as he can. He’s been great for England but it’s time for Trafford to be first choice

😧 "Jordan Pickford shouldn't play for England again!"
❌ "It's over!"
Has Jordan Pickford come to the end of his England career?

Pickford is possibly the biggest limitation to England's progress from a player perspective and the stupidity of people who constantly laud his mediocrity is madenning. Massively error prone, no reach, Hollywood's easy saves, constantly boots it to no-one, massively overrated.

The most damning for Tuchel, even if you think he isn’t responsible for this embarrassment, is that he had a drink break to change everything. He had 4 minutes to make sure the players would do something different than the previous 10 minutes, to change things. And it got worse!!
Wayne Rooney blasts Thomas Tuchel after England’s World Cup semi-final defeat to Argentina.
🗣️ “I’m absolutely furious because England didn’t lose this game due to a lack of talent they lost it because they stopped believing in themselves. And that falls on the manager. Thomas Tuchel got it badly wrong.”
“You’re one goal away from a World Cup final and instead of finishing Argentina off, you retreat, defend your own box and invite Lionel Messi to dictate the game. Against the greatest player of all time, that’s football suicide. You don’t survive against Messi by giving him more of the ball—you bury the game before he buries you.”
“I couldn’t believe what I was watching from the touchline. England looked terrified. Every substitution, every tactical change screamed fear instead of ambition. This England team is packed with players who dominate for the biggest clubs in Europe, yet they were told to play like underdogs protecting a miracle.”
“The moment England stopped pressing and stopped attacking, the game was over. Argentina sensed weakness, Messi smelled blood, and world-class teams punish fear without mercy. You cannot hand players like Messi that much control and expect to survive.”
“I feel sorry for the players because they’ll carry this pain forever, but the truth is they were put in a position where they were reacting instead of playing. That’s not the England we’ve been building. That’s not how World Cup winners behave.”
“This wasn’t one bad decision or one unlucky moment. This was a complete tactical collapse. England had one foot in the World Cup final and let it slip because the manager chose caution over courage.”
“When you have a generation this talented, failure hurts even more. This squad should have been preparing for a World Cup final. Instead, they’ll be left asking one question for the rest of their lives what if we’d kept attacking?”
Ashley Cole on England’s World Cup semi-final elimination.
🗣️ “England have bottled it. There’s no sugar-coating this. You don’t spend years building one of the most talented squads in world football only to crumble the moment you’re asked to show courage. They gifted Argentina belief and paid the ultimate price.”
“They went into their shell after taking the lead. Instead of finishing the game, they started protecting it like a small nation hanging on against a giant. That mentality is embarrassing for a team with England’s quality. Champions kill games—they don’t hide from them.”
“The manager completely lost his nerve. His substitutions, his tactics, his message to the players—it all screamed fear. Sitting deeper and inviting Lionel Messi and Argentina onto you is football suicide. Everyone watching knew what was coming except the people on the England bench.”
“And the players deserve criticism too. Too many disappeared. Too many hid instead of demanding the ball. When Argentina raised the intensity, England folded like a pack of cards. You cannot call yourself world-class if you vanish when your country needs you most.”
“This wasn’t bad luck. This wasn’t the referee. This wasn’t fatigue. This was a complete collapse of mentality. England threw away a place in the World Cup final because they lacked the courage to keep playing football.”
“If you’re satisfied with reaching the semi-finals, then keep making the same mistakes. But if you genuinely want to become world champions, performances like this should haunt every single person in that dressing room. They didn’t lose to a better team—they lost to their own fear.”
Ready for Argentina! 👊

Spot on Lee @lrwebbmac 👏🏻
Especially where ‘Power’ is concerned.
My favourite album of the 90’s if I’m candid & would love to see a reissue at some stage.
What say you @sdedition ?
Perhaps @StevenWilsonHQ could weave his Atmos magic one day?
