The problem is the Bishop/Conference.
First, other churches in the Horizon Conference weren't polled before the Conference sued a (then) member church (HPUMC).
This is like McDonald's corporate office suing a franchise restaurant without asking other franchises where they stand in that:
#1: it shocks all of the other member Churches,
#2: shows that the Conference views a secular authority, a state court, as the superior voice.
When the roles are reversed and a member church goes to the Conference with a problem, the Conference reliably says "Pray for God's will about the problem and leave it in God's hands."
The Bishop didn't do that. Other member churches weren't even asked to pray about the Conference/HPUMC spat... and one can hardly conclude anything other than that's because the Bishop didn't think about prayer first.
There's a word for that.

The party that claims to "care about life" is the party that has implemented laws that have directly resulted in more and more women dying during pregnancy.
The gop's goal isn't "protecting life" because what they support is the direct cause of more women dying.

Ex-Trump official says 'self-imploding' president was just 'baited' into 'worst' move
“It took Barack Obama one joke to get the president of the United States to sabotage his party’s midterm election chances,” Taylor wrote. He argued that a fight over the Cheesecake Factory “has baited Trump into making the worst, most self-defeating ‘closing argument’ in the history of American elections.”

The Republican Women’s Caucus Fund and someone named John Braun were identified as those responsible for the scheme that riled up voters just as early voting began, according to legal filings made public late Thursday. The identities were ordered to be revealed by a Travis County judge. bit.ly/48q1oVa

Highland Park Methodist Church (@HPMethodist) voted to leave the denomination. The bishop says they can't. He removed their clergy, told the members who wanted to stay to worship three miles away, and assigned them his own chief of staff as pastor.
The church says its ministers will be in the pulpit Sunday as usual.

When I was in college I attended Highland Park United Methodist Church where they had a service that used none other than the Book of Common Prayer. I’m proud of the stand they are taking and am saddened, but not surprised, that the UMC in its radical intolerance has attempted to fire their clergy and drag them to court, just as TEC did with the Diocese of Fort Worth. Pray for our Wesleyan brothers and sisters as they embark on what will likely be a long legal journey. May God give them strength to continue to be who they have always been.
