See y'all at SBCL25 in Vienna May 2-3 😎 european-lisp-symposium.org/…
One word that English needs to borrow from Swedish is "shit." As in a mild exclaimation, like "darn," that a small child might say in the middle of a family Christmas special on TV.
Looking for a Christmas present for a geek? This book is staggeringly beautiful: smithsonianstore.com/micro-l…
Ending this week on the thought: is Nested Sequential Monte Carlo sampling eerily similar to Monte Carlo Tree Search? Have to chase up how/if MCTS is applied in Bayesian context.

On the way to Eindhoven for JuliaCon. Who else is coming to town and what are we all doing tonight? 😎

I case you happen to be at the Deep Conference (deep-conference.com/) in Zadar (Croatia) -- I'll be around for the next two days if you'd like to have a chat about anything network-related ;)
Just registered for JuliaCon Local (and PyData) in Eindhoven 😎 juliacon.org/local/eindhoven…
(Getting quite into Gen.jl for probabilistic programming lately.)
Is there a particle filtering algorithm that allocates particles using log-weights? So that in a multi-modal distribution you have decent resolution on smaller modes e.g. for rare event simulation.
(Couldn't have intermediate resampling steps with equally-weighted particles...)
This is meant by analogy to cameras storing pictures with log-scale values (raw/vlog/etc.) That's more versatile fo changing exposure in post-production. I'd like the posterior distribution from the particle filter to be similarly flexible (not just optimized for "expectations.")
See you all at the European Lisp Symposium in Amsterdam in a couple of weeks! european-lisp-symposium.org/…

Is @n26 a scam?
Advertised as a business bank. Once you onboard they say it's for sole traders only and can't deal with incorporated entities. Then they wait for the 14 day consumer protection to expire and bill you $100 for no services rendered.
Lowering the bar on banking (!)
