This talk of US suit makers being “too expensive” wouldn’t exist rn if the fandom wasn’t so preoccupied with seeing fursuits as a commodity that is necessary for fandom participation / clout. Fursuits are unique & handmade, and makers should be respected as professional artists.

My only take on this. There are a variety of makers from North America, Europe, Australia, Asia, etc. all within YOUR budget. But it is YOUR job as potential client to find them. There are plenty of resources out there. Asian maker doesn't mean cheaper or better.

From my experience, I got low salary from my last Chinese fursuit company. Many foreign furries don't know some of these "big companies" pay low to their workers so they can sell more products.

PREDICTION: 7/10 fursuits will be made in China or another foreign country in 5 years. Economically, US makers cannot compete with the quality, speed, and price of Chinese suits. Chinese makers work in large teams and use fabrication techniques I haven’t seen ever in the US
