Researchers at MIT have developed a new three-sided zipper called the Y-Zipper that can turn soft materials into strong structures.
Using 3D printing, the team created flexible zippers that can bend, twist, and lock into shape.
The technology could be used for faster-deploying tents, adjustable medical devices, and shape-changing robots.
