Check out this video of knock-in ZO1 tagged with StayGold - incredible stability and brightness!! (continuous laser for 1 hour!)
A junction-dependent mechanism drives murine mammary cell intercalation for ductal elongation - now available online from Developmental Cell! Congrats to Alex on a great paper!!
Congratulations to Lindsey Seldin on her appointment as an Assistant Professor in Cell Biology at Emory University! We will all miss her here at Vanderbilt.
Interested in epithelial cells? In stem cells? - the Macara lab is looking for talented postdocs for projects on embryonic stem cell differentiation, and on mammary gland development, breast cancer and cell fate plasticity. CRISPR, high-end microscopy, mouse models, 3D organoids
Great results with Luke Lavis's JF552-SNAPcp dye!
Trying to make a SNAP knock-in of the Pals1 polarity protein. SNAP dyes are notoriously bad for nonspecific labeling of cells. But the new JF552 Lavis dye is not fluorescent until bound to the SNAP tag protein - works super well!
Our Cell and Developmental Biology faculty search at Vanderbilt has now gone live! Applications will be through Interfolio at the following link: apply.interfolio.com/93555
Ads will be posted online with Nature, Science and Cell.
The Dept of Cell and Developmental Biology at Vanderbilt is beginning a search for new junior faculty this fall. This is an open search - looking for exceptional scientists in any area of cell/dev biology.
Check out our new BioRxv preprint - "A self-limiting circuit regulates mammary cap cell plasticity through TGF-beta signaling" by Armelle Le Guelte. Cool story!
Hey, check out our recent Vanderbilt Lab-toTable Webinar discussion on the origins of life! -
