Jennifer Hale made a statement on BioWare closure and EA saying EA never understood BioWare and she hopes someone can buy and save the Mass Effect IP, among others🚀 “It’s really hard to think about BioWare being shut down, but it was in the hands of ownership that may not have understood what BioWare fully is. And I’m hopeful that maybe there might be some crazy thing where they decide that, in order to increase their profit margins⁠—which is often their priority—they will release these IPs into the market to sell them, and use that to do what they do, which is increase their profit margins. Maybe someone could grab hold of these IPs and do something with them. Mark Darrah also echoed her sentiment in a statement within the same interview: “EA doesn’t understand BioWare. I’d argue it was an accidental acquisition. EA bought VG Holding—which included BioWare and Pandemic—largely to acquire Pandemic and Knights of the Old Republic, because it wanted an MMO and the Battlefront developers. Mass Effect trilogy sales show us a very unfortunate reality about modern game expectations🚀 ✅Mass Effect: Sold 2 million copies as far as EA has reported. None updated beyond that, and it was originally in Xbox in 2007, and then on PC in 2008 and later on PS3 in 2012 ✅Mass Effect 2: Sold ~5 million copies lifetime sales ✅Mass Effect 3: Sold ~7 million copies according to various estimations ✅Mass Effect Andromeda: Sold ~5 million copies according to community estimations The idea that even Andromeda being considered a “failure” is laughable, because 5 million copies are no joke, especially for a game that got such negative reactions. Those games looked outstanding and they weren’t made with unrealistically inflated budgets, and they can still turn in great profits. 2 million copies was considered good enough to green light a sequel, as were 5m and 7m and while you may argue that game development is more expensive now, they are charging more for games now, and many development aspects are being made faster now thanks to modern engines and various other tools/assets. Mass Effect “Universe” has a chance to sell great, and the vision we’ve heard about sounds quite promising. This series cannot end like this. #SaveMassEffect
