Mark Cuban shares his advice for people stuck working a 9 to 5 job and living paycheck to paycheck
“Don't go get the best job because that's the hardest to find. Don't get the perfect job because those are hard to find. Just get a job”
“When you have a job, just work to be really good at it”
“You have to be brutally honest with yourself because nobody looks at the job they're doing and says, ‘I suck.’ They're like, ‘Oh, I'm great at this’”
“When you're really good at something, that's when doors do open up”
“Even in the worst possible job, you could be working at a McDonald's, at a Dairy Queen but there's a path”
“The fact that you can show a future employer that you moved up the line and then when they asked for a reference, they said, ‘Steven was incredibly valuable. We're really sorry that he's leaving. We tried to keep him.’ That's what you need”
“That can happen in 2-3 years. It's just most people don't want to think like that”

Harry Kane going from football’s most famous trophyless player to a Ballon d’Or winner might be the greatest example of why changing employers can improve your life.

Arsenal were UCL and Carabao Cup finalists and Premier League winners without a top 14 player, without the best GK in the world, and without the best coach in the world.
Interesting 👍

Unai Simon has won the Men's Goalkeeper of the Year award for 2026.
He beat his compatriot, David Raya, to the prize thanks to his efforts with Spain at the World Cup.
But Simon made a total of nine saves in eight games, which — as a body of work — surely does not outshine Raya's season for Arsenal.

How does every single football match end up taking lives? Is football even entertainment anymore if every game leaves us in grief?
Investigate the incident on-site thoroughly, no matter the cause. Deepest sympathies to the Bobotoh who passed away on their way home🥀

can't agree more with this 💯
Having worked with football governing bodies at every level, from FIFA and Confederations to Federations and Associations, particularly around “Football Starts at Home,” I’ve noticed one recurring challenge:
There is rarely one person who can actually make the decision.
Football governing bodies are often political by nature. Elected leaders, appointed department heads, executive committees and multiple layers of approval can turn a simple decision into months, sometimes years, of discussion.
One person gets involved, then another department, then another committee. More voices, more opinions, more delays.
Eventually, enthusiasm fades, people move on, committees change, and projects that once had strong support simply die.
I’ve experienced this with both some of the largest and smallest football organizations in the world. I’ve even received verbal agreements to move forward, only to hear later: “The timing isn’t right” or “We need to discuss it further.”
Often, the problem isn’t the idea, the budget or the willingness to act.
It’s the inability to make a decision and take ownership.
Consensus is important, but consensus can become a substitute for leadership.
If football governing bodies genuinely want to drive innovation, grassroots development and initiatives like Football Starts at Home, they need to ask themselves:
Who has the authority, and the courage, to say, “Yes, we’re doing this”?
Because without someone empowered to make that call, great ideas can spend years trapped inside the system.
And meanwhile, the game moves on.
