Nhat Nguyen 🇮🇪 has produced an amazing result at the Orleans Masters World tour 300 beating Paris Olympic Bronze Medalist.
Nhat took the match against the number one seed and World ranked number 7 Lee Zii Jia 🇲🇾 23-21 21-7 👏💪☘️ – at South Dublin, Ireland
Spassky had a great history with Ireland. He was brought here in 1991 for four days to promote the game amongst our public. His trip included a 30 board simultaneous exhibition where he won 22 games and drew 8 (generous draw offers from Spassky to make his day shorter 😃)
The 10th World Chess Champion Boris Spassky died today in Moscow at the age of 88. RIP.

Had a great experience playing vs Irish champion, international master David Fitzsimons tonight. To give you a sense of the vast memory of strong players, David made reference in our analysis to a game between Sergey Karjakin and Levon Aronian in the 2017 Tata Steel Masters 1/3
Here Aronian correctly played 8…Be6 (much better than my try with 8…f6?? where black is failing tactically after 9. Nc3 Be6 10. d4!)
Karjakin played 9. c3 and the line went 9…Bb6 10. Bb3 f6 and Karjakin missed 11. c4! winning a piece after the dust settles 2/3

While some critique the quality of the games, they forget that the best matches and games from a spectator’s perspective are never the clean ones but the topsy turvy ones. Within reason, slight mistakes and misses make the games more dramatic and viewer friendly . #dinggukesh
