🚀 We're hiring
"We have an aggressive growth plan." 🚀 That's our CEO @mansourkaram in today's @svbizjournal, talking about Aria Networks, Inc. move into our first office. 🏢 35,000 sq ft at 400 W. California Ave., up from under 10,000 in Palo Alto. We officially outgrew our home at Sutter Hill Ventures. 🛠️ We launched in early 2025 to build networking for AI factories, and most of our hiring this past year has been hardware and software engineers. 📈 We're going from 70+ people today to 200+ worldwide by this time next year, with the Bay Area team growing from ~50 to 120–150. 🚆 We're less than a mile from Caltrain and near downtown Sunnyvale, so commutes are easier for the team across the Bay Area. Our hardware team moves in this month, and everyone else follows in November. As Mansour put it, "Well be working on the plane as it flies." ✈️ From day one, @shv didn’t just back Aria, they gave us a home. 🏠 We spent our first chapter building out of their Palo Alto office, and a lot of what Aria is today started in that space. Thank you to the whole Sutter Hill team for making room for us while we grew, and for putting up with the hardware, the late nights and the ever-growing headcount. Want to help build the networking company for the AI era? We're hiring 👉 arianetworks.com @mansourkaram @stefandyckerhof

Four Aria engineers at #OCP2026. Two had to play the incumbents. Please don’t hold it against them! We take the engineering seriously. Ourselves, a little less. Proud of a team that runs circles around the competition. Literally.
Apparently, the slow network walkers are becoming famous. And increasingly in demand. 🤭 OCP 2026 has been quite a week! Jokes aside, there were some great conversations with customers, partners and people building the next generation of AI infrastructure. One thing is clear: the race to build AI factories is accelerating. And as these systems scale, the network becomes ever more critical. But remember: Demand will fill your AI factory. Performance will define its value. Thanks to everyone who connected with us in San Jose this week. What caught your attention at OCP this year? Let us know in the comments. #AriaNetworks #OCP2026

U & Bernie have never created a job, a product, or a company yet somehow you sit on hundreds of millions of your own money while overseeing massive govt waste & fraud telling us to trust the government. Socialism & govt dependency has never worked. No thanks.

The nation owes a debt to @JGebbia and his excellent team. They worked incredibly hard, with no compensation, to make government services work better for all Americans. 🫡 🇺🇸
Imagine seeing your work announced on the national stage by the world's most gifted speakers, like @SecRubio who introduced our new design for the U.S. Passport, in collaboration with the State Department. National Design Studio is growing! ndstudio.gov/jobs

The White House Accord on Super Intelligence will have a positive impact on safety. Committing to hire third party auditors who will report to an independent committee of board members has more practical near term significance than almost any conceivable regulatory action. These board members will have a fiduciary duty. If they ignore a report from the third party auditors then a bad faith finding from a court is a real possibility. A D&O carrier could use this to deny coverage. Really good outcome for ordinary Americans. More effective and elegant than some ridiculous new regulatory body that would take months to do anything, then almost certainly done the wrong thing and along the way probably created a regulated oligopoly at the frontier which is the scariest potential outcome* As I read the articles about the accord, it did occur to me that they were mostly written by political reporters who may have not understood the significance of the accord given their reporting beats are generally focused on public policy instead of corporate governance. *Scariest because I do not trust any 5-20 individuals to make the best possible decisions about the direction of this technology. I want as many AIs as possible to maximize the odds that they encompass the diversity of human values across the world and richness of human variation. And I want an AI that shares my own personal values. Safety, freedom and the maximization of human agency through democratization, distribution and diffusion vs. centralization. History has spoken on the dangers of the latter path. **Also SI not AI still adapting to the change but I do think better branding. Who wants artificial ingredients in their food?

Four of our engineers volunteered to make our point at @aiandsystems AI Infra Summit. Two as the legacy network, two as @AriaNetworks. Guess which is which :D “Your network is not broken. It just can't see clearly.” You can tell a lot about a company by witnessing its culture.

A GPU from 2020 rents for more today than it did at launch. That tells you everything about where AI is headed. Our very own @djspry, Head of Product, breaks down what changed: agent traffic pushing tokens into the quadrillions, GPU prices that won't fall, and why cheaper tokens only create more demand. 😳 Brad Gerstner on the ex-Anthropic researcher who told America AI could end humanity in three years: "To go on national television in a highly coordinated way and sit in the living room on NBC, on ABC, on CBS, on Fox, and have a single researcher who spent six weeks at Anthropic tell the moms and dads of America that this can kill all of humanity in the next three years without any countervailing conversation is deeply irresponsible. Jensen Huang yesterday called it deeply untrue. Andrew Feldman, the founder of Cerebras, who spent decades studying this, called it utter horseshit. Elon himself said it was a coordinated psyop." - @altcap with Scott Wapner @TheJudgeCNBC on CNBC Friday, Sept 11th, 2026

Wild 24 hours for AI and lots of different proposals have been made. TLDR; the only *tangible* new fact is that OpenAI and Anthropic are going to have embedded 3rd party evaluators from unknown organizations with Dario floating METR as a possibility. Having 3rd party evaluators is smart as there is no Section 230 style liability shield for model outputs and showing a “duty of care” will be important in future litigation. Several internet companies might have gone bankrupt without Section 230 so limiting liability really matters. There are minimal investment implications from this single new fact, but I do think that for anyone who wants a “smoother for longer” cycle then most constraints are good: wafers, watts, real rates and spreads. Excessive regulation is a different matter but I don’t think we are anywhere close to this even if the vector changed over the last 24 hours. To summarize the events: Dario made the most maximalist proposal of the weekend: embedded 3rd party evaluators, a national regulatory regime for models beyond a certain capability/ingredient threshold, a broad international regulatory pact between democracies, stricter limits on compute/distillation for China and then a different international regulatory regime that encompasses China. Before there is a national regulatory regime, he wants a Sherman act waiver so that Anthropic can safely coordinate with OpenAI and other frontier labs without antitrust fears. TBF, this latest proposal is much less maximalist than some of his prior proposals like “Policy on the AI Exponential,” where he advocated for an FAA for AI. I believe he is sincere in his beliefs. And despite all the protestations, all of this would also probably be good for his business over the long-term. Sam agreed that embedded 3rd party evaluators were a good idea and stated they would implement them. Again, this is smart as should help limit future liability. Elon said “Dario is right” and later specified that “Dario is right that there should be some oversight. Peer review of AI by competitors is the right way to start this off.” This would be a MPAA like self-regulatory structure for AI with regular calls between the labs plus a process where each new model is evaluated for safety by competitors for a 1-2 week period before being released. That is *wildly* different from Dario’s proposal and in-line with what David Sacks has been proposing. Elon also stated that nothing was going to slow down open-weight models. Demis said that Dario’s essay was a “step in the right direction.” Dario also said that he was also open to Demis’ idea of a FINRA like self-regulatory structure as part of his proposal. David Sacks had a thoughtful post where he said that Dario and Sam should pace unilaterally, called the antitrust waiver a cartel request and denied that METR was truly independent given their ties to Anthropic. Sriram Krishnan, former White House AI advisor, noted that it would be important to have the 3rd party evaluators come from independent organizations that are not affiliated with any lab, which is basically an indirect statement about the relationship between METR and Anthropic which Sacks was explicit about. Clem from Hugging Face said they were open to being a neutral 3rd party evaluator, which is interesting especially if Jensen was consulted before that post. Alexander Wang from Meta noted that alignment would be an increasing focus going forward. An executive order seems likely after all this and the language in this EO is going to be really important. It is possible to democratize and distribute AI broadly and safely without centralizing it in the hands of a few corporations who might each become more powerful than any single government. I do not want a few humans in control of intelligence. I want us all to have our own intelligences that reflect our own values and human variation in all of its richness. Intelligence distribution over intelligence centralization FTW.
