Fundamentally, #bitcoin changes everything because it protects the most important, scarce thing in this world. Your time.

Fighting is fiat. It dies when fiat dies.

Almost all of us are domesticated by lies that we tell ourselves and have little to no understanding of who we really are. Understanding one's self is the only path to happiness and that path requires the unwinding of the domestication and the lies. Over a decade ago Bitcoin sent me on a path to discover truth in money. Then several years later covid put me on a path to discover the domesticated lies of our corrupt reality. A few years after that I became sober and no longer let alcohol guide my social life. This set me on a path of Truth since I had spent decades modifying my natural state through alcohol. I am happier now. More peaceful and capable of more love than I've ever been capable of as an adult, but I have a long ways to go. I make no judgment on anyone who doesn't understand Bitcoin who believes that covid was for the best or enjoys a regualar drink. That is their decision, their freedom, their story. But my story found truth through these experiences and your story may lead you to similar truth if you choose to make it your story.

The real wake up call will not be when bitcoin "corrects" 50% from an ATH. It will be when it doesn't.

A discussion with some friends and I think it is worth getting it on record for us plebs. Bitcoin return averages over 40% yoy and that is removing the early years with ridiculous returns. So, it is very high probability that it will continue to average far above 15%. I expect that to last at least until the asset is worth more than gold. This will be the first major global milestone for bitcoin as the dominant store of value in the World. For time frames I would range this occurring between 2035 and 2050. To do it today bitcoin would need to be priced at ~$1.4M. Keep in mind gold will likely be increasing vs the dollar too so this will not be the actual dollar price when it occurs. Why is this comparison interesting? Bitcoin solves in the digital space what gold solved for centuries in the physical space... in a word... money. There is a key difference though. Bitcoin is engineered to be money and gold is a rock... it just so happen to be the best natural solution to the problem. So, from a very literal sense bitcoin is the first money humans have ever had, everything prior was used as money but it was not money. Plan accordingly!

Not only is demand unknowable. Bitcoin is worse than that. Humans have never had to price something whose supply does not flinch, no matter how violent the demand. Gold gets mined harder. Land gets developed. Oil gets drilled. Art gets forged. Every historical “scarce” thing still answers demand with some new supply. This is not a better gold story. It is a market with no historical reference for how crowds derive a price.

If you want to see something fail faster than BIP110, then try a new POW algo. That will drive you straight off the cliff. Talk about not understanding bitcoin and incentives.

The block size wars taught us that when you have the majority of users and you don't have majority miners users win. The spam wars taught us that when you don't have the majority of users or miners you lose. Both are critically important to bitcoin, but the latter was obvious.

A lot of bitcoiners that I respect and I know are well intentioned are going to learn a tough lesson today and over the next few weeks. Be humble and stack sats. Everything will be OK.

There is a critical vulnerability being actively exploited on BTCPay Server, which can result in the loss of funds. Please update your BTCPayServer to 2.4.2 by going to Admin Dashboard -> Server -> Maintenance -> Update & verify the 2.4.2 version string in the footer. If you are unable to update right away, turn off your BTCPay Server to prevent unauthorized access until you can update.

Keep doing stuff like this and you won't get away with saying you are no expert. AI is an amazing tool when have clarity on what you want.
Thanks to a generous credit of tokens from @PPQdotAI , Kimi K3 and an ape with a laptop (me) have conducted the following analysis of a bunch of projects / companies wallet softwares. @Coinkite , @OPENDIME , @SeedSigner , @Bitkey , @bluewalletio , @PhoenixWallet , @SparrowWallet , @Trezor , @Blockstream , @Ledger , @BitBoxSwiss , @SpecterDIY , @ElectrumWallet , @SamouraiWallet 🟡 Yellow ≠ broken. None of the nine Yellow products has a confirmed fund-loss-by-default flaw. Yellow means at least one of: (a) something security-critical sits outside independent verification. i.e., closed firmware or secure-element code (Opendime, Ledger, open source please!), vendor-run recovery infrastructure (Phoenix/ACINQ, Jade's oracle, Bitkey's WSM); (b) a real but bounded weakness, such as a zero-work-factor KDF (BlueWallet), weak legacy KDFs on a hot wallet (Electrum), no-SE DIY hardware with thin maintenance (SpecterDIY), a just-patched vulnerability awaiting its report (Bitkey); or (c) a dead/unmaintained product whose crypto reviewed clean (free Samourai!). In every case the entropy/key-generation path itself was reviewed and found sound unless the cell says otherwise.

Some surveillance government agency somewhere... How do we get all the largest bitcoin hodlers to move their coins? Oooooh, I have an idea... you know that mythos model, I bet it could....

Seems valuable.
Hi @Teknium , I am sure you get a zillion AI slop PRs but I promise this one is actually a no brainer to consider despite it coming 99% from my Hermes agent. I use Hermes reminders A LOT in my business and with consulting clients. Telegram interactive messages are a super easy way to give the agent more context on whether and when a reminder was read and acted upon. When I updated to the latest version of Hermes this morning my custom bridge tool reverted to flat reminder messages in Telegram. I think this should be merged, let me know if you agree. @nousr github.com/NousResearch/herm…

Thinking your side is the right side is the trap in the current debate. No matter what bitcoin wins. Stay humble and don't chase narratives. Chase more sats.

We are starting to reach the depths needed to continue on our march to separation of money and state. Feels good.
