Some days I get into bed so tired and today I’m ( so tired) and as my head touches the pillow I thank God for my warm cosy bed

In the hustle and bustle of life the worries fears and just about everything that goes with it, you have to just sit quietly , light a candle and take all those worries from your mind. I always find when I’m stressed worrying ( often about my health) I say a little prayer and somehow it allows me to get through another day with a little smile ❤️

I had a lovely day today at Sidcup Rugby Club started with a delicious meal then a great game of Rugby made all the more special that Sidcup won, however I think it’s worn me out I’m now at home tucked up on the sofa with a blanket. I am so much better but today made me realise I’m not quite there yet praying each day I get a little better and will be back to my old self very soon

There had been so much in the news about the death penalty lately that I’ve found so disturbing. How can it be right to take a life, I have no problem with life in prison if that what’s needed but the death penalty absolutely not. Our world is troubled but ending life is not the answer and never will be

It’s so easy to get melancholy and feel sad and it’s not that I’m feeling sad today but I do keep thinking about our dear Jimmy, then I saw this photo of him on our front room wall and besides the tears there’s a little smile as I look at his beautiful face I thank God for his life and the joy he brought to all

40 years ago today, I was very heavily pregnant with my sixth child. We had just bought a small business on Burnt Ash Hill, just around the corner from where we lived. It was a Londis, and I thought I still had a couple of weeks before my baby was due. However, on the Monday, our first day of opening, I went into labour that evening and, at about 9pm, our beautiful little baby girl came into this world. She was a little floppy, but I didn’t take much notice of it at the time. What made her birth even more special was that she was born on Our Lady’s birthday. I’ll never forget the next morning. Five doctors came walking up the ward and ended up at my bed. The first thing that was said to me was, “Mummy, I think you know what I’m going to say. Your baby has Down syndrome.” Well, quite honestly, I didn’t know. As you can imagine, it was a shock. I remember holding my sweet Samantha tightly and praying to Our Lady, asking her to please help me be a good mummy to this precious baby. I promised that I would always care for her with all my heart, and I always will. Of course, life isn’t always easy, as I know only too well. Samantha has her strange ideas at times, especially when it comes to her food and drink! She absolutely adores her day centre and all her friends there, and she has a few health issues too. But this 40-year-old woman, who could easily be mistaken for 12, comes into my bedroom every night, kisses me goodnight many times, tucks me up in bed and makes me feel loved. And that is something truly special. So today, my darling Samantha, have the most wonderful 40th birthday. I will always take care of you and love you with all my heart. God bless you, darling. ❤️

As much as I love school holidays and I always have since I had children I would look forward to the holidays and hate it when they went back to school. Now I love it when schools are back so I can start visiting them again sharing with all those fine young people Jimmys legacy of #forgiveness #peace and #hope And hopefully encouraging them and inspiring them to be our change makers

The assisted dying bill terrifies me having a daughter with a learning disability what does the future hold for her if I’m not around to fight her corner, I thought I would write to my MP well quite frankly that was a waste of time, I did get a letter back But to a plain old mumma it was a load if waffle

I read today that our prime minister @10DowningStreet Andy Burnham had decided not to vote in the assisted suicide bill but to abstain. We all have beliefs and we know that we will never all agree with everything but Mr Burnham if you really disagree with this bill, make a stand be the bigger person and vote because your one vote could make the difference please don’t be a coward we have had enough of them, stand for the right to life not death
