Let’s see: already seriously degrading your service value by removing @ESPN, check; making fatter margins by no longer paying ⁦@Disney⁩ their carry fee, check; now, doubling down by raising your price, check. #DirectTV, executes the perfect 3-pronged customer cluster f#%k

Move along, nothing to see here... CBS/YouGov poll conducted after the debate - 72% of registered voters now believe that Biden does not have the mental and cognitive health to serve as president. Only 28% of voters said Biden should be running for president.

Here’s one theory: “What better way to recast yourself with the electorate than through a gripping, episodic fight for leadership? What could draw more people into politics than a must-watch nightly drama, with the fate of the nation at stake? I have to believe that Trump — a modern-day P.T. Barnum who feeds off the boring artifice of his adversaries — fears that spectacle more than anything. And in a political age in which familiarity breeds distrust, what could be more advantageous than choosing a nominee — preferably one from outside Washington — with only two months to campaign? Imagine the explosion of interest that would surround some fresh, non-octogenarian — Gretchen Whitmer, Gavin Newsom, Gina Raimondo, Josh Shapiro — during a 10-week barnstorming tour. How’s Trump going to handle that? Even Harris, for all her flaws as a political messenger, would benefit immensely from an open fight, should she ultimately triumph. It would reintroduce her as a unifier and a winner, and afford her a rare opportunity to commandeer the national stage.” washingtonpost.com/opinions/…

“It was ‘just’ a bad night.” How many more bad nights will Joe have when he’s 82 … then 83 … then 84 … then 85.” This is collective insanity that won’t just ensure Trump’s reelection, but set the Dem’s up for a generation in the minority. @JoeBiden WITHDRAW today!!!

reciprocity's a bitch... For American tech companies in China, the writing is on the wall. It’s also on paper, in Document 79—an effort some refer to as “Delete A,” for Delete America requires state-owned companies to replace foreign software in their IT systems by 2027.

Navigating "corporate speak" isn't easy. Here's a helpful guide I put together: "Let me check with my team" = No "Possibly" = No "On my roadmap" = Not happening "This will be done in Q4" = This will be done in Q2 next year "Disagree and commit" = I hate you "Per my last email" = Try reading, for once in your life "Challenging landscape" = We're going out of business, quickly "Digital transformation" = We're going out of business, slowly "Let's circle back" = We'll never speak of this again "Take it offline" = We'll never speak of this again "30,000 foot view" = I don't know what I'm saying "Low hanging fruit" = Easy promotion "Open up the kimono" = HR violation "We use AI" = We don't use AI "We use machine learning" = We don't use machine learning "All hands on deck" = Let's actually try for once, please

I greatly respect Ms Pelosi, particularly her reign as arguably the a Top-3 most effective Speaker in history. Nonetheless, I lament the America has become a gerontocracy. Please, retire at the end of this term and let the next generation rise! nytimes.com/2023/09/08/us/po…

Yikes! I guess I’m supposed to find this hopeful and exciting. Instead, it fills me with dread…
