Big crypto news from 🇰🇷: South Korean lawmaker Jeong Seong-guk from the People Power Party is pushing a bill to delay the crypto tax a full 3 years from January 2027 all the way to 2030. Right now the plan is a 22% tax on gains from selling or lending virtual assets if you clear more than 2.5 million won (roughly 1,750 usd) in a year. He’s arguing that investor protections and fair tax setup still aren’t strong enough, so starting now could create real headaches for the market. Korea is one of the most active crypto markets in the world, with millions of active retail traders. Another delay could give everyone more tax-free breathing room and keep local volume high. At the same time it stretches out the years of uncertainty that have already worn a lot of traders down.
