Exciting news! The Next Gen Dev Platform which has been in Early Access for the last couple of months will become the default experience for all Shopify app development next month.
This will give everyone who builds apps:
• A completely re-engineered app dev experience that is faster and smoother
• Declarative metafields and metaobjects to easily store merchant data
•Dev stores that mimic real merchant plans, including Plus
•A beautiful new developer dashboard

Polaris Web Components are finally here! 🎉
It's hard to express my feelings, as I've been hoping for this for a long time.
I prefer building Shopify apps with Rails. And as many other devs, I've been struggling with Polaris being React only framework. Struggled so much, that we end up building Polaris ViewComponents - community library that implements Polaris components specifically for Rails.
But now we have framework-agnostic Polaris. We could use it with Rails, Django, Laravel, etc. This change will save thousands of development hours across ecosystem and will make app interfaces more polished for merchants. And the fact that we could use the same Polaris components across surfaces of the platform is absolutely sick!
Huge step forward! Thanks @jzazove and everyone behind this project for making it happen! 👏💚
