Thank you @nytimes for covering @CCAlliance and the fact that #colorectalcancer is killing way too many young people. It is now the #1 cause of cancer related deaths in the Us for people under 50. We need new treatments now. #ProjectCureCRC
Targeted therapies are transforming cancer care, yet many patients never receive the biomarker testing that could reveal more effective, potentially less toxic treatment options. That urgency is driving KLEOS, the Alliance’s adaptive clinical trial platform. By evaluating multiple promising colorectal cancer therapies more efficiently and expanding access to cutting-edge options, KLEOS aims to move breakthroughs from the lab to patients faster—because innovation only matters when patients can benefit from it. Making healthy food choices sounds simple. Our modern food environment makes it anything but. In this episode of Oncology Unscripted by Decera Clinical Insights, @marshalj23 speaks with evolutionary biologist Daniel E. Lieberman, PhD, about how the way we eat has changed—and what that could mean for our health. From ultra-processed foods and fiber to GLP-1s and the need for better nutrition information, their conversation explores the larger systems influencing our everyday choices and the potential implications for cancer prevention. ▶️ Tune in to the full conversation: bit.ly/4kcAhlI #OncologyUnscripted #CancerPrevention #Nutrition #Oncology #PublicHealth

Colorectal cancer is now the deadliest cancer for people under 50. The rate at which people under 65 are diagnosed with the disease rises nearly 3% every year. The worrying trend has fueled a sense of urgency for John Marshall, MD, who has devoted his career to developing new precision treatments to better understand one of the fastest-growing cancers in the U.S. Today, Marshall leads KLEOS, a new collaboration of researchers, patient advocacy groups, and pharmaceutical companies to accelerate the pace of research to find new treatments for colorectal cancer. “Given the rate at which it’s growing and the clear lack of understanding as to why, there’s no stronger signal that something is going on in our environment, in our world, than young-onset colon cancer,” @marshalj23 said. georgetown.edu/news/colon-ca… @LombardiCancer @MedStarGUH @CCAlliance

GLP-1 receptor agonist use has risen dramatically, but what happens when patients stop taking them, and what could widespread, long-term use mean for health outcomes? In Oncology Unscripted by Decera Clinical Insights @marshalj23, reflects on the rapid rise of GLP-1s, what current patterns of use may tell us about their long-term impact, and the questions he hears from patients about potential implications for cancer outcomes. ▶️ Tune in to the full episode: bit.ly/4kcAhlI #GLP1 #Oncology #CancerCare #MedBuzz #Healthcare

“Go exercise” may sound like simple advice, but helping patients become more physically active is far more complex. In this episode of Oncology Unscripted by Decera Clinical Insights, @marshalj23, sits down with evolutionary biologist Daniel E. Lieberman, PhD, to explore why physical activity can be so difficult to sustain and why understanding each patient’s individual barriers matters. Their conversation goes beyond exercise to examine the connections among physical activity, nutrition, the microbiome, and cancer prevention. ▶️ Tune in to the full conversation: bit.ly/4kcAhlI #OncologyUnscripted #CancerPrevention #PhysicalActivity #Nutrition #Oncology #ScientificActivation #EvidenceToAction #Decode
