Wash trading in the NFT and crypto spaces has long been a problem in Web3, with one study estimating that more than half of all NFT trading volume in 2022 came from bots and bad actors “pumping” their own projects artificially. While these activities are common in traditional markets, for blockchain-based projects there should be no excuse, because the records themselves are all right there. In the past, “proving” whether or not this was happening was a convoluted process that often required the expertise of a data analyst with specialized training. With recent advances in AI, it’s now fairly easy to identify the red flags, which is what we did with our site at teia.cafe/washing. One of our focuses at teia.cafe is leveraging blockchain and AI technologies together to get high-accuracy results that you wouldn’t be able to get otherwise. These methods can be employed at small scales or large, depending on each project’s needs.
