My longest held take is among being a driver, pedestrian, or cyclist, whatever you’re doing at the moment, you automatically hate the other two. Even if you’ve done all three at some point.

TBH, and I'll get hate for this too, but it's because the trans community is overrepresented with people who have this type of professional victim mentality where they are not comfortable having allies.
Unfortunately, much of it is because they never had support or love and were forced to develop a character built on overcoming it, so they only know how to exist in a world where they are oppressed.
Maybe I'll get a lot of hate for this, but I feel like the support Dems have for the trans community has not been appreciated. I don't know if it's the algorithms, the radicalization, or the dumbing down of history, but it's like the trans community is deliberately misinforming themselves as to what the Dems platform is, and what Biden did for the trans community.
Look, maybe it's not my place to tell a community how to feel about their rights, but I still do not get it. What trans civil rights, precisely, do the Dems not defend? What part of the GOP, not the Dems, whipping up a fear mongering culture war about trans people do they not understand?

One thing I’ve learned today is that a LOT of Airbnb hosts haven’t realized they’re actually in the hospitality industry, not the real estate industry.

I'm the kind of guy who tries to see value in all cultures, but if you're executing people for having sex then sorry, you're just barbaric. I am a better person than you, my values and culture are superior to yours, and I hope your culture perishes.
Also goes for blasphemy laws
For those of you who are still being mislead by the fake news of the execution in Saudi.
Here is what really happened. Now judge it yourself.
Nazrul Islam and Sithi Akter, two Bangladeshi nationals employed as cleaning workers for the Bin Laden Group in Mecca, became romantically involved while commuting to work. Nazrul lived in a residential villa in Hayyal Iskan, while Sithi resided in Batha Kuraysh.
In May 2023, the two engaged in illicit relations in a secluded stairwell room between Gates 85 and 87 of Masjidul Haram. Nazrul had asked an Indian acquaintance to stand guard downstairs, but the friend secretly recorded the encounter on video.
Later, when the Indian national attempted to make advances toward Sithi and was rejected, he leaked the video online.
The video quickly went viral, prompting immediate intervention by Saudi authorities, who successfully apprehended all three individuals.
The Indian national received a 20-year prison sentence for recording and distributing the footage.
Nazrul Islam and Sithi Akter were detained immediately following their arrest in May 2023.
Nazrul had originally arrived in Saudi Arabia from Bangladesh between November 10 and 13, 2022. Following his arrest in May 2023, he remained incarcerated throughout a lengthy three-and-a-half to four-year judicial process leading up to October 2026.
Throughout this period, official protocol dictated that the Saudi government notify the employer (sponsor) rather than foreign government authorities.
Various rumors circulated online falsely claiming that the individuals were pilgrims performing Umrah or that the charges stemmed merely from public displays of affection.
While the defendants were unmarried, the severity of the legal outcome was not solely based on the act of zina (adultery). Because the offense took place within the sacred precincts of Masjidul Haram, the court determined that they had severely violated the sanctity and honor of Islam's holiest mosque.
Consequently, senior judges of the Supreme Court handed down the death penalty as an exemplary punishment aligned with Quranic principles and the Sunnah.

The MTA is proposing a new 125 Street Subway, which would extend west from the future 125 St/Lexington Av Q station. The project would connect existing subway lines—including the Second Avenue Subway—and bus routes along the corridor.
Learn more about this project at a public scoping meeting; we're hosting two virtual sessions on October 22, and one in-person session on October 27. Register for a session and get all the details: mta.info/project/125-street-…

The ad released by Vivek Ramaswamy is disgusting. Everyone, including Jon Husted, should be willing to condemn this ad.
This is Wayne to a T.
“At the heart of the GOP is this very straightforward premise: ‘there are some people whom it is my right to abuse. They are my property, and they owe me total obedience; freeing themselves from my abuse is a betrayal of natural hierarchy and divine law. You are trying to take my victims away from me, and I’ll do anything to stop you.’”
Hard to overstate how much the Amy Acton Mom ad is what the modern GOP is about. All these anxieties about how people (especially women and children) might use their agency to break bonds of filial duty and free themselves, rather than be subject to control and abuse.
We sort of satirize them as the “you can’t groom my kids, that’s MY job!” Party, but this ad is very nearly that explicit argument. They don’t want schools to empower young people to find the autonomy to come out as gay or trans, they don’t want colleges to teach young adults about the breadth of the world and the human dignity of people from diverse backgrounds, they don’t want women to have financial independence and jobs and no-fault divorce.

Exactly. Of course all the MAGAs are saying this is a major revelation (hint - it’s not). No surprise that MAGA trash, known abusers themselves, are taking the side of a reprehensible trash abuser who let her daughter be raped and then stayed married to that criminal!

It’s a desperate play to attack Acton as a liar (a false attack) and trigger resentment + anger from MAGA trash who are upset they’ve been ostracized from their children’s lives due to similar abuse + awful political views. “How come my daughter won’t talk to me anymore” vibes.
