One pleasant change with this group is the patented Bruin BLOB curl jumper is pushed beyond the three-point with Petty getting a pair of great looks off of it.

Bruins lead 54-22 at the half. • 11 assists on 16 made FGM's, w/ just 4 TO's. • Six different Bruins with an AST, the ball for the most part did not stick. Up 32, but not w/o teachable moments • Pair of moving screens • Foul on a 3PA • Petty + Jovic each lost on D sequence

After needing a half to get their defense going in the recent not so secret srimmage, the Bruins have come out defending from the start tongiht. CBU 5-of-25 overall with six TO's. Add offensive rebounds on half of the Bruin missed FGA's and its been no shortage of energy.

The Bruins went nearly five minutes between baskets yet extended the lead by ten. The best way to describe the bench would be pesky, tough, & versatile. Robinson's defensive instinct, Jovic's switchability and willingness, BW's toughness. Philon showing touch at the stripe.

Kusturica diving on the floor one second then skying over a defender for an offensive rebound. Effort will not be an issue.

It feels great to have Bruin basketball back. Eric Dailey with four made triples in the opening ten minutes. His previous Bruin high was four (done twice, last vs. SC March of ‘25).

Sean McDonough making big time calls never gets old.

Bru-wins Coaching, it matters. And unlike last season, there is competence on the sidelines this season.

We’ve reached a point in reality where Brad Brownell is now more likely to win a title at Clemson than Dabo Swinney.

“It is the largest crowd in major college football in California this season and USC has already played two home games.” Factual gold from Tom Hart

If you’re a power conference you simply must have the communication between refs and the replay booth on the broadcast.

Finally!
It’s time to retire the ESPN bottom line. In today’s universe everyone has access to all scores at our fingertips or is actively looking to avoid a score/to watch a game later. The very least make it smaller by going back to a scrolling single line.

Likely a dumb question but I’ll throw it out there anyways… Instead of athletic eligibility questions, could school presidents direct their admissions offices to not admit these rare/“controversial” types of athletes that are at the center of the hoopla?

Conference commissioner this, conference commissioner that… It’s a shame we are not graced with press releases from Larry Scott (via his Aria Sky Suite penthouse) in this current college sports landscape. They would be must read.

Things college basketball should take from the NBA: 1. All-League teams should be five players!
The 2026 NBA All-Summer League First Team: Cameron Boozer, @memgrizz Brayden Burries, @Bucks Yaxel Lendeborg, @warriors Meleek Thomas, @cavs Caleb Wilson, @chicagobulls The team was selected by a vote of all 30 NBA teams based on performance at Summer League in Las Vegas.

Indiana boosters today: “See! That extra season of Woodson was worth it! We’d be looking for another new coach today!’

The Denver Pioneers, the only thing in 2026 thus far to slow down the Big Ten title parade.

And go back three weeks to the Big Ten title game where Purdue had 21 assists on 30 baskets, while committing just two turnovers against this Michigan defense. Not that Michigan needed a wake-up call, but that game certainly comes close to that.
In the Final Four Michigan forced 25 turnovers and saw Arizona & UConn combine for 14 assists. 65% of UConn baskets this season came via an assist, tonight that was 43%. Size matters - but the versatility AND willingness to defend is not a unicorn feature in the portal.

Michigan held Arizona & UConn to a combined effective field-goal percentage of 39.2%. That is the 4th lowest eFG% total allowed by a champion since the NCAAT expanded to 64 teams. Opponent F4 seeds of the lower instances: -UConn '11: 4, 8 -UConn '23: 5, 5 -Kentucky '12: 4, 2
