Test rugby schedules? Have we asked too much of our @Wallabies in 2025 with 15 Tests in 140 days / a Test every 9.3 days? Q. How does that compare? A. Unfavourably.
The @espnscrum pod chatted about @wallabies win %age. Post-RWC19 = 38.3%. Which players have enjoyed the most/least success? The four BIG surprises: - 1) just 4 (min 10) are >50%; 2) #10 s have the best record for min 20 & 30 Tests; 3) Skelton = 4/19 or 21%; & 4) HWilson = 31%
For all-comers & all-time, BJBarrett (13) is the leading Test try scorer v @wallabies . He entered the match tied 1st with RIoane, RMcCaw & MNonu on 11. BB made the record his own in the 17th. RI tied it back up in the 26th before BB edged ahead in the 41st. @AllBlacks
Of the 70 @wallabies to play 50 Tests, Lukhan S-L ranked #69 in terms of time taken to achieve the feat. His 9 years & 17 days is only bettered by JO'Connor's 10y, 325 d.
The 5 quickest? 1. MHooper 3y 142d; 2. IFolau 3y 143d; & 3) LTuqiri 3y 171d; =5th JSlipper & BFoley 3y 360d

And the #10 jersey selection chocolate wheel just keeps on spinning. Since RWC19 the longest streak of consecutive matches at fly-half is Noah L with 7. We've played 80 Tests in that period. JOC + NL + RH + QC + BF + CG + BD + TL + TE + DM with rookie HM-P on the bench. Amazing.
Defence matters. All-time Tests vs. ABs when they've scored 20 or more points = 111. AB wins from those 111 = 103 (92.8%). Last time AUS conceded 20 or more vs. NZ and won = 2020. All-time Tests vs ABs when they've scored 30 or more = 53. AB wins from those 53 = 53. #NZLvAUS
Five tries vs. SAF was superb but it was the three successful penalty goals which ultimately won the day, the equal most in a single Test since Match #697, 4 v IRE 2024 (L 19-22). NB. RLonergan's PG vs. ARG in Jujuy was our first in 11 matches, the 10 being an ALL-TIME record.
Four @wallabies cards = most for a single Test #AUSvSAF
4 #720 vs SAF (W) 2026 [Wilson + Lonergan + Suaalii + Paisami]
3 #392 vs ENG (L) 2000 [Giffin + Latham + Cockbain]
3 #496 vs SAF (L) 2009 [Giteau + RBrown + GSmith]
3 #669 vs NZ (L) 2022 [Wright + Swain + JGordon]
Les Kiss has named the @wallabies most experienced run-on XV [621 caps at kick-off] since Match #676 [701 caps] vs. SAF, Pretoria in 2023. That Test was the first of EJones' disastrous second-coming & MHooper's 125th and final cap. Thanks very little Hammer. #AUSvSAF
N.B. With JCanham's withdrawal, @wallabies run-on XV will have 660 caps, not 621 as previously advised. #AUSvSAF
Fraser McReight averages a try every ~2.7 Tests.
That ranks him 12th all-time for those @wallabies who have scored more than 10 career tries.
11th is THoran. 13th is SMortlock
N.B. MCBurke 2.8, JRoff 2.9, AA-C 3.1, RKoroibete 3.15, MGiteau 3.4, JLittle 3.6, KBeale & JO'C 5.1
