The writing was on the wall when AMEX started letting platinum use the centurion lounges.
I’m done with @AmericanExpress platinum card. It was worth $900 a year when you could get into lounges with it. There was some exclusivity. Now every low class reject gets in. An hour waitlist and then when you finally get in, it’s people on speakerphone, screaming, acting like it’s a Carnival cruise. Amex has been enshittified. I’ll save my 895 bucks a year.

I did this 5 years ago. SO MANY people laughed at me when I told them this... Catch up people. It's not too late to be ready for all the "emergencies" that are incoming.
BREAKING: The Pentagon has launched “FORTRESS America,” an initiative ordering major military bases in the continental US to be able to run on their own for at least 90 days. Bases will need to keep power, water, fuel and communications running independently, without relying on outside supply.

Now the Army's CFO wants a "national security capital strategy" to "compel" pension funds, insurers, banks and individual investors to finance the military buildup. When Congress can't pay for the war, your pension will. The Hill op-ed thehill.com/opinion/national…

Since COVID, emergency powers have become a tool of the state. Trump's 21-month-old "energy emergency" now pays refiners $150M in war-production money to cut gas prices. 12 days before the midterms. Emergencies don't end. They find new uses. xitter.cf/ENERGY/status/21134549…

Deposit $10,000 in cash and your bank reports you. A new book says Gulf royals routed at least $2 billion to Trump's son-in-law through a bank in Azerbaijan. The only ones who noticed were Dutch spies inside his iPhone. KYC is for the little people. xitter.cf/HormuzReport/status/21…
BREAKING: Jared Kushner’s hacked iPhone revealed that Kushner promised MBS and MBZ he would push their agenda with Trump if they participated in a secret fund, with the two royals initially discussing over $10 billion before ultimately placing at least $2 billion into accounts for him, according to a Vanity Fair excerpt from Princes and Thieves. The revelation lands as Kushner remains deeply involved in Iran war diplomacy, while Tehran has separately accused him and Steve Witkoff of pocketing $9 billion through market manipulation.

Britain now tells every household to stock 3 days of food and water. Pitched by the Defence Secretary at a new tank barrel factory, the day Ofgem warned gas may run short this winter. "We're busy making gun barrels. Can you handle the first three days?" xitter.cf/mattpheus/status/21116…

Digital ID is going global. UK Online Safety Act, nine months in. Ofcom today: no significant change in kids seeing harmful content. The fix? Ban under-16s from social media. So everyone proves their age. When an ID law fails, the answer is more ID. xitter.cf/matthewlesh/status/211…
🚨NEW: The Online Safety Act has been a failure, according to a new report from Ofcom. Ofcom have found "no significant change" in children encountering harmful content since the law came into effect last July. This is despite the signifigant threats to free speech and privacy.

Digital ID is going global. Bots are the new excuse. US banks say they can't tell you from an AI agent inside your account. Meanwhile, Sam Altman's World is selling banks an iris scan as "Proof of Human." Same guy who sells the bots. xitter.cf/MadisonMills22/status/…
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios. The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios. Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said. Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior. Read my latest for Axios here: axios.com/2026/10/22/ai-agen…

Saudi Arabia pumped 6.24 million barrels a day in August, the lowest on record. Exports went up anyway. (JODI) Pump a lot less, ship more. That only works if you're emptying the tanks. Or the numbers are cooked. Either way, that's not flush. xitter.cf/mattpheus/status/21128…
Supposedly more oil is leaving the Gulf now than before the war. Brent is ~$109. If really flush, the price would show it. Instead the price is finally catching up to reality, after what feels like months of active suppression. xitter.cf/DropSiteNews/status/21…

Digital ID is going global. Here's the catch. One PHP bug and the Dutch pulled DigiD, their login for taxes, health and benefits, offline. The EU wants your ID, licence and bank data in one app by Dec 24. Then one bug can switch off a whole country. xitter.cf/TheLastHopeUSA/status/…
DUTCH DIGITAL ID SYSTEM DIGID TAKEN OFFLINE OVER CRITICAL PHP FLAW The Netherlands DigiD platform — the national login system millions of citizens use for taxes, healthcare, benefits, and other government services — has been pulled offline as a precaution ahead of today’s emergency PHP patches. Also offline right now: • Tweede Kamer (Dutch parliament website) • NCSC. (the country’s own National Cyber Security Centre) • MijnOverheid and parts of local government publishing systems (NotuBiz) All of this is happening because of two unpatched remote-code-execution bugs in PHP (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, both rated 9.2). The official fix is scheduled for 14:00 UTC / 10:00 AM EDT today. Early attack attempts have already been reported. If a country’s main digital identity system and its cyber agency both go dark over one programming language bug, how many other high-value targets are still exposed right now?

Bessent compares the GENIUS Act to Lincoln's 1863 currency law. He's right. That law raised cash for the Civil War: banks had to buy US bonds to issue money (OCC). Stablecoins must be backed by Treasuries. Every war needs someone to buy the bonds. xitter.cf/Trensik_com/status/211…
1863: Lincoln signs the law that creates the OCC. 2026: the same OCC finalizes the rules for stablecoins. The GENIUS Act takes effect Jan 18, 2027. $RLUSD, the cash leg for RWAs on the $XRP Ledger, is already live. Trensik.com

To justify today’s data center buildout, AI would need to bring in about $3.5 trillion a year by 2032, per a new Brookings paper. That’s 8.8% of U.S. GDP, nearly as much as Americans spend on food (9.1%), and far more than on energy (5.1%).

Wages are falling. Consumer goods are falling. But it's hard to see, because the dollar is falling. And we use the dollar to measure wages and prices. So it appears that everything is going up. And people only care if wages or prices go up faster.
The "golden age." Median household income hit a record $87,460 last year. (Census) Priced in gold, that's about 25 ounces. In 2000 the median household earned about 150. A record in dollars mostly tells you what happened to the dollar xitter.cf/TrumpDailyPosts/status…

⭕️ NEW: Middle East oil exports appear to have surpassed prewar levels despite escalating attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, according to Kpler data cited by the Wall Street Journal. Regional oil shipments averaged more than 24 million barrels per day in the week through October 18, compared with 23.3 million before the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran began in February. The report said the recovery has been made possible by the improvised shipping system, including tanker-to-tanker transfers in the Gulf of Oman, and expanded use of Saudi and Emirati pipelines bypassing Hormuz. The Kpler chart below tracks Gulf and Gulf of Oman exports, excluding Red Sea shipments. Its latest 14 days of data remain subject to upward revision, but the seven-day average appears to have tagged 20 million barrels per day in regional exports.

Europe caps cash at €10,000 from July 2027. The answer online: "use Bitcoin." Same law, same day: EU banks and crypto firms are banned from anonymous crypto accounts and privacy coins. They didn't forget the exit. They closed it in the same rulebook. xitter.cf/BitcoinNewsCom/status/…
🇪🇺 THE EU WILL BAN CASH PAYMENTS OVER €10,000 FROM JULY 2027 The cap comes from the EU's new anti-money-laundering rulebook and applies in all 27 member states. Countries can set even lower limits if they like. Sellers will also have to check ID on cash payments of €3,000 or more. Cash is getting harder to use without showing ID.
