There's a deep hesitation in Boomers and Gen X to engage with Christianity. I am here to suggest to you that it is worthy of your time.

Friends, my annual reminder: Be wary. Tonight is All Hallows’ Eve — the one night in the year when, by a mysterious privilege, doomed spirits, nosferatu, shape-shifters, hags, ghouls, neoconservatives (but I repeat myself), legal positivists, and even journalists are allowed to prowl the world, seeking the ruin of souls.

Decisions affecting human life, freedom, and the use of force must always remain subject to effective, informed, and responsible human oversight. For this reason, artificial intelligence must be “disarmed”, and I encourage the States meeting in Geneva in November to take concrete steps toward banning lethal autonomous weapons.

Machines are tools, not persons. Today, some propose granting these systems rights, or even legal personhood. Such an approach risks obscuring human responsibility and leaving those who suffer harm to confront a faceless entity.

The future of #ArtificialIntelligence is not pre-determined. As a technology developed by human beings, its future depends on the choices we make. We therefore have the responsibility to guide, change and, when necessary, reject its applications. A reliable system that serves the human person is of greater value than one that is exceptionally powerful but whose consequences cannot be adequately foreseen or controlled.

I do not understand why this beautiful sentiment is getting so much criticism. Our Holy Father is simply saying something obviously true and deeply profound: That Christ sanctifies and purifies cultures when they follow Him, but in precious and unique ways, drawing out what is already best and leaving behind what is worst. It is why the “many nations” can all proclaim Christ. It is why Christianity is so successful when allowed to be freely shared. Christianity does not homogenize. It glorifies.
Faith can be embodied in all cultures, because it does not identify itself with any of them in a specific one. It dwells within them, shaping them from within according to the “form” of Jesus Christ; that is, through charity, service and the filial recognition of God’s fatherhood. In this way, the Church draws from the various cultures all that is good, beautiful and true, in order to embody and transmit the message of the Gospel. #GeneralAudience

When we see the crowds of people forced by hatred and violence to walk the road to Calvary, let us recall that God has redeemed this road, walking it Himself, giving His life for us. Many Simons of Cyrene exist in our own day, bearing the cross of Christ on their shoulders!

You remember the Cambridge train attack last year where a bloke tried stabbing 10 or more people? His trial started today. Not worthy of front page news apparently bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c98r…

It's relentless. Newspapers run stories declaring the glorious liberation of mid-life divorce while Hollywood and Netflix get in on the act. Why are we all being encouraged to break up our families, asks Joanna Gray. dailysceptic.org/2026/10/27/…

Marriage is a lifelong commitment, not a legal label to stretch around every adult arrangement. Scotland needs politicians who understand why stable marriages and strong families matter, especially to children.
