Following our Alumni Game, we got to celebrate RHP and former Hackett baseball star @PrestonCosby77’s commitment to Eastern Michigan University. Looking forward to watching PCos light it up for the Eagles. ⛽️

100 HCP family members and former players celebrated 6 years of baseball under Coach Smiley Verduzco’s leadership, playing an alumni game. During his time, Irish were 148-60 with 4 Regional Championships and a State Title in 2021. “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” #SOUL

Led by @max_gerl, who was honorary coach due to injury, young guys won our HCP baseball alumni game on a walkoff sac fly from @verdu5david deep to LF to knock in @LucasCosby6, who had tripled. They take home the hardware.

Congratulations to @HopeCollegeBSB commit @verdu5david and @max_gerl on earning 1st and 2nd Team Kzoo Dream Team and to @LucasCosby6 and Vince Walbridge for being HM.

@max_gerl smokes a two run HR to RF to even the score in the Irish’s 9-6 Quarterfinal loss. It was Max’s 4th homer of the year, 22nd XBH and 36th RBI, capping a stellar career at Hackett.

After winning Regional, Irish bow out vs. Marcellus in State Quarterfinal 9-6. @max_gerl another big game 2H, HR, 2RBI; @DominicSmojver, @Tyler_Beach_2 and Young 2H each. Irish finish strong season 28-8.

@max_gerl clutch once again, knocking a single to right to score two in Irish 4-0 W over P-S.

Irish win their 4th district title in 6 years, beating #8 ranked Petersburg-Summerfield 4-0. @verdu5david was electric on the mound, tossing CG shutout, giving up 2 H with 14 Ks. @max_gerl clutch 2-run single in the 6th to break it open.

Irish get by Martin 4-3 in Regional Semi. Walbridge clutch with 5 shutout IP, giving up just 2 H with 4Ks. @DominicSmojver big two run single; @max_gerl 2H, R; @verdu5david 3BB. #4 Irish take on #8 Petersburg-Summerfield Saturday 10 am at Spring Arbor in Regional Championship.

@max_gerl leads off Lawrence win with a missile to RF and turns on the jets for an inside-the-park HR, his 3rd of the season (glitchy here). The Senior SS is now batting .484 with 14 2Bs, 4 3Bs, 32 RBI and 41 Rs on the season.
