Introducing OpenHelm: OpenClaw but free (using your Claude Code subscription)
Download: openhelm.ai/

I tried OpenClaw. It is awesome, but token use killed me, and like with Claude Code scheduling, I ended up spending most of my time managing failed executions and tweaking prompts.
I built OpenHelm to fix this. It’s a local macOS app that turns your high-level goals into a self-running job queue, built directly on top of your existing Claude Code subscription.
Happy to answer any questions!
spent too much time babysitting claude code. write a prompt, wait for it to finish, check the output, kick off the next step.built openhelm to fix this. set a goal once & it handles the rest — schedules recurring jobs, auto-retries failures, self-adjusts when things break.
built openhelm. free, local-first job orchestrator on top of claude code.set a goal, it makes a plan, runs jobs on schedule, and retries failures. watchdog kills hung runs at 30min. sqlite+drizzle job store, json-rpc ipc.no extra api costs. fair-source.github.com/maxbe… | openhelm.ai
just launched OpenHelm — built it because I kept babysitting Claude Code.set a goal once ("keep tests green", "cold outreach weekly", "SEO audit every Monday"). it plans the jobs, runs them on a schedule, self-corrects when something breaks. wake up to a summary of what ran while you slept.fully local macOS. no extra API costs — all LLM calls go through your existing Claude Code subscription. credentials stay in Keychain.fair-source on GitHub (free for teams under 4).1 min demo: youtube.com/watch?v=FfEBw1SC… it: openhelm.ai
built something I needed as a Claude Code user.you know the loop: write prompt, wait, check output, kick off the next task. repeat. the recurring stuff is worst — same prompts, same babysitting, every time.OpenHelm turns your Claude Code subscription into a self-running job queue. set a goal once ("keep tests green", "audit my landing page weekly"), it plans jobs, runs on a schedule, auto-retries with root-cause context when something breaks.fully local macOS. credentials stay in Keychain. no extra AI costs.fair-source on GitHub (free for teams under 4): github.com/maxbeech/openhelm…: https://openhelm.ai1 min demo: youtube.com/watch?v=FfEBw1SC… what you'd automate first.
How it works...
1. Set a goal, eg. "cold reach out to new leads", "grow my SEO", "audit my app weekly", "keep tests green")
2. OpenHelm puts together a plan combining one-off and recurring jobs to make it happen
3. Whenever a job fails, it will spot this, adjust, and try again
4. It will keep on top of the goal, auto-adjusting what jobs are run to actually achieve it
Real pleasure to join @mattedmundson on the eCommerce Podcast to discuss how to build customer relationships.
Most brands get this wrong, and it is a big reason why I launched getathenic.com

INCREDIBLY excited to share the next step for Athenic.
Website owners can now build a much deeper relationship with every single customer
TLDR; if your conversion or retention rates aren't as you'd like, let's chat → getathenic.com

Excited to finally share what I’ve been building: Athenic, a co-pilot designed to make a 1-person unicorn possible, starting with automating organic social marketing.

And what better way to share cool AI with a video produced with cool AI, so here's a launch video produced using Sora 2. Edited from over 300(!) Sora 2-generated videos, real voiceover and real screen recordings.

just been my own first customer of athenic (link in bio) to automate this entirely.
the 2 minutes is to grab myself an extra coffee 🤪

vibe coding is killing my speed. not because it's making me a slower dev, but because it's making it all too easy to split my focus by opening another terminal tab.
thank you to @musingsbymima and Arul for helping me truly realise this.
so here we go. taking my first week off to focus on jone thing, and it's not Chaos (hopefully in more ways than one).

all I can think to call this is the law of diminishing vibes.
i start vibe coding something, and the initial 80% of the app built takes 20% of the time, and the final 20% takes AT LEAST 80% of the time
with more complexity and more potentially failing tests, it's almost impossible to truly vibe code something functional
feel like I can't be alone here.
little hack I've been trying out today as I try to find a painkiller for my multitasking: write down your current step before leaving a task. definitely making switching back less painful.
my brain: let’s start this project. also my brain: what if we research medieval farming tools instead.

just launched my first ever Apple ad. used basic mode. scarily easy to setup. curious to see what happens. 👀
