Reworked this a little for rounds 1-7 since 2010, redefining a draft "hit" as a player that signed a second deal anywhere above market value (more on that below). Makes the threshold for a "hit" a little higher, but nonetheless think it's revealing. Sure, you have a good chance of landing a successful IOL in R1, but you also do in R3. And your EDGE choice might be a coin flip in R1, but good luck in R3!
ESPN content producer @PaulHembo calculated the percentage of 1st-round picks that “hit” or “miss,” based upon whether that player signed a second contract with the team that drafted them.   The data encompasses the 20 drafts spanning 2000-2019. Here are the positional hit rates:

Some very simple math: if a country has 5% of the world's population and ability is evenly distributed, then 95% of the people who are best at any given thing will be born abroad.

Major League Baseball reversed Nolan Schanuel's single on 3/30 at BAL and changed it to an error, ending his on-base streak to start a career at 30 games—the 3rd longest streak in MLB history. The Angels broadcast team just responded with an all-time rant
