Six former Twitter execs and longtime employees sued Twitter and Elon Musk in US district court in Delaware on Tues, alleging they violated severance agreements. The lawsuit seems to corroborate much of our & others' reporting about the co not paying bills int.nyt.com/data/documenttoo…

Great summary of the current financial situation at Twitter and the likely scenarios going forward - most likely bankruptcy within 6-12 months fueled by either employee lawsuits or regulatory fines. This seems spot on to me. davekarpf.substack.com/p/how…

My op ed about the last days of Twitter is out. It was sad to reflect on all that could have been. I write this piece not just as a commemoration but as a warning - we need better systems of tech oversight theatlantic.com/technology/a…

Finagle enabling the person who literally shit on twitters architecture. If not for finagle, the headlines regarding twitter headcount would be so different.
Imagine Twitter Eng right now without @finagle. I can’t.

As the former lead for Ads at Twitter, I can confidently say this man has no idea wtf he's talking about
Sorry for showing you so many irrelevant & annoying ads on Twitter! We’re taking the (obvious) corrective action of tying ads to keywords & topics in tweets, like Google does with search. This will improve contextual relevance dramatically.

“One of the company’s two remaining principal engineers offered a possible explanation for Musk’s declining reach: just under a year after the Tesla CEO made his surprise offer to buy Twitter for $44 billion, public interest in his antics is waning.”

Elon Musk's email to staff here suggests that the massive technical glitch that halted people from tweeting, following other users and messaging might be related is related to consolidating data centers and reducing GCP usage, which could be a way to reduce costs.
Replying to @kyliebytes
He sent a follow up email. “We should also pause on transitioning away from Sacramento, consolidating Atlanta and reducing GCP usage until at least next week.”
