The difference is that the New York Times, which has a lot of credibility with left of center audiences, treated Alaska as a huge scandal while totally ignoring it in Nevada.

A shadow PAC with Republican ties is sending mailers promoting third-party candidate Danielle Ford as the “AOC of Nevada,” falsely implying she has AOC's support, apparently hoping to siphon votes from Democrat Aaron Ford.
AOC has never even spoken to Danielle Ford and is backing Aaron Ford.

Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo, the Republican incumbent who is in a competitive reelection race this year, endorsed Filippo in July.
A spokesperson for Lombardo declined to comment when asked if the governor, who served in the Army and National Guard, stood by his endorsement.
