Whether you wanted him fired last week, this week, end of season, never, it doesn’t change the objective and that’s to win ball games and move forward. The players sound like they are ready for the task, and as fans you show up and back them up.
NC State remains one of the more disciplined teams penalty wise for the year, while they get a Cal team that ranks 3rd worst on the year coming across country. Got to capitalize on their known penalty issues!
Do I think Philip Rivers is the best hire for NC State? Nope
Will I support Rivers, if he is hired, just as hard as Doeren? Dern right I will (the metrics never stop).
I keep seeing folks compare Rivers to Chuck Amato cause Chuck was “a risk”. What about Amato with 20+ years of coaching experience, and being AHC for 13 says “risk”? Or are folks incorrectly comparing due to their playing times?
Purely curious here.
No matter the HC for NC State you have to go grab Jatavis Sanders as GM.
Director of Recruiting at NC State from 2022-2023, and has been the same at Alabama since 2024.
EXPERIENCED guy to take the step up and help run a program for a COLLEGE experienced coach.
Top Options for NC States HC spot based on “level” in college ball based on current/slight increase in current resources:
- Jason Eck (Top G6 up and comer)
- Jeff Monken (Boos Guy and great coach)
- Brandon Nagle (Houston OC)
Congrats to Dave for a phenomenal career at NC State! Elevated the program to a higher standard, and respectfully made his way through the local HS landscape making relationships and building bonds.
Cheers to Dave, and on to a new venture for the future of the program.
In the case of a change of HC at NC State, yes, I will not be thrilled with Rivers being hired as the HC.
A positional coach, yeah sure. HC, nope. Dozens of more qualified options.
Woke up still a Wolfpack fan that will support this ball club the rest of the year!
If change is made at the end of the year then change is made. Rough loss on the road without a doubt, but you live to fight another day.
Ready to enjoy this beautiful Saturday!
NC States defense to start the 2nd quarter:
12% success rate
-2 yards
1 sack
3 QB hurries
1 PBU
Need to maintain that after the offense got you 14 back in the last 3 drives.
Based on the UVA crowd it’s obvious that the excitement form the Tony Elliot fluke season of 2025 has officially worn off.
