Obinna Ekezie Jr., everyone.
Buy stock now.
Louisville has itself a very promising freshman talent in Obinna Ekezie Jr., who has the tools to be a special prospect in due time.
A vertical play finisher @ 7’2 with suffocating length, shot-blocking ability & floor spacing upside. Definitely a player to monitor long-term.
I'm very confident that Jeremy Fears Jr. will return a T30 grade from me for the 2027 NBA Draft.
No player has posted a higher single-season AST% (53.0) than Fears Jr. — a cerebral creator with passing feel, ↑ TO aversion, rim touch, gaudy FTr & solid dTOV influence (2.6% STL).
Baylor’s Kayden Mingo had a stellar performance in his sophomore debut vs. Florida.
Strong self-creator with driving skill (62% ATR @ 20% ast’d), ↑ AST/USG + defensive playmaking (~4% STL). If the shooting woes can improve (24.4%, 5.7 3PA/100), I’m all in on Mingo as a ‘27 guy.
Happy NBA Eve! And, at that, Pistons tip-off eve
How else could I celebrate other than writing about Detroit - and the rest of the East’s Midwest division?
* P.S. ~ Am running behind on this series’, but hey.. something’s’ better than nothing. As always, enjoy the words 🙂⬇️

The college basketball season is only a few weeks away so here's my 2027 preseason board! With this being such a wide open class I'm expecting a healthy amount of early season movement, but for now feel free to ask any and all questions about prospects' placements!

The Most Valuable Non-All-Stars in the NBA
The league’s most awarded players have an obvious appeal, but inefficiency in identification plagues fans and experts alike. All-Star nods identify *most* of the upper crust; +EV lies in the league’s equally talented, but less-heralded
UNC fans should be elated at the level of talent they’re getting in freshman wing Maximo Adams.
6’7, 220 — oozes scoring versatility, physicality + good possession economy. Can defend multiple positions with ↑ size + tools. A name to stash away & monitor for the 2027 NBA Draft.
Here’s a look at UConn’s Colben Landrew in his debut vs. Syracuse, and it’s no surprise why he’s my 3rd ranked prospect of the 2027 NBA Draft.
A burly scoring wing with strong tools, defensive activity + feel indicators. He’ll be in contention for best freshman prospect of ‘27.

USC’s Alijah Arenas showed some promising tape in his sophomore debut vs. UNC.
Multi-level shot creation with some improved handling, pace + contact absorption on display. If the ancillary skill & scoring efficiency can improve, I’m confident in Arenas as a ‘27 candidate.
Arizona’s Ivan Kharchenkov is my top returning wing prospect & favorite breakout star for the 2027 NBA Draft.
6’7, 250 lbs — a true multi-positional defender that blends size, connective skills, non-stop motor + efficient off-ball scoring. A name to monitor closely this season.

Guards were the crown jewels of the 2026 NBA Draft class.
This cycle? A bit different, to say the least.
Still, several intriguing guards returned to school with a chance to boost their stock.
For @NoCeilingsNBA, I broke down 10 returners and their paths to rising up boards.
