We come to this place… for opportunity.
We come to the trenches to win, to cope, to learn.
Because we need that. All of us.
That indescribable feeling we get when the chart starts printing green candles.
And we ape into a ticker we’ve never seen before.
Not just trading, but somehow entertainment.
Together.
Flashing charts across huge computer screens.
Price action that I can feel.
Somehow, getting rugged feels good in a place like this.
Our runners feel like the best part of us,
and every narrative feels early and inevitable.
Because here, they are.

History of the Meme Supercycle
When I sold my second last ape in June 2022 for 96 eth, it was quite obvious to me that NFTs were done. The next 10 months was bleak. There was nothing to do in crypto. I didn’t trade any memes in the nft cycle. Then pool party launched March 2023 and I told my friends idk what it is but there was NOTHING going on so we jumped in. It was an interesting concept and opened my eyes to coins. Don’t think I made any money but often times that’s not relevant. It created a tiny sliver of excitement on CT which I noticed.
Shortly after, Pepe hit and everyone was all over it. I made decent money on it and was now fully aware of memes. Then Hpos10i hit in May and I made it my personality. Smart, funny, unique, and retarded. And I watched the community spin up quickly and knew what the next bull run was gonna be about.
Strong coins started spawning on Eth after. Mog. Spx. Joe. Then i noticed the shift so sol start in the fall. Cheaper faster etc. I had dex screener open every day set to new sol coins. Plugging CAs into a rug checker site because you had 0 info. I bought popcat day 1 on vacation. Misplayed it obviously but rebought and did decent. Got rugged countless times.
Then pump fun hit in January 2024 and ppl think this was the beginning of the end of meme coins. It wasn’t. Like everything in life people are the end of something good.
The celebrity coins were the start of the end of meme coins. I already knew a coin based on a single person would always fail because I’m not a moron. But they were all over CT. People jumping in celeb replies offering to help. Clout went to peoples heads and they started pushing a terrible product on everyone. “Crypto influencers will be the new celebrities”. All sorts of utter nonsense. That’s not how you onboard lasting users. That’s how you fuck up a wet dream.
Then suddenly you had people who had never made a big trade in crypto streaming and making 6 figs during the stream on a hot new launch that they magically knew about. These people who for years never had a single good call in crypto. But if you noticed they chased every single hot ball of money. Friend tech. Blast. Any new meta they could start pushing so that they could extract before people realized what a terrible idea it was.
And the Fortnite kids showed up and caught the end of meme coins. The utter bullsht that was crypto+AI. Id argue that goat was worthless in my trading chat because a chat bot making tweets and then a human picking which tweets to send was actually moronic. A lot of people got absolutely rinsed on these coins. Every one a short term pump and dump as influencers were telling you AGI would be birthed on Solana.
Now meme coins are solved. Dev, bundle, dump.
And to that I say fck them kids.
Return to crypto tradition. Take back the culture that they took from us.

AIs are just another step up the semantic expression ladder. We initially expressed our semantics in binary, then assembler, then Fortran, then C, then Java, then Python, etc. AI is just the next step up that same old ladder.
And when you take that step, nothing else changes. You are still expressing behavioral semantics. You still need to express structural semantics. All the old principles still apply. You still have to be concerned about design and architecture.
And even though the syntax allows informal statement, you cannot abandon formalism. When you express behavior you need a formal way to enforce the behavior you want. I use Gherkin for this. It seems to work pretty well.
Consider that Gherkin is written in triplets of Given/When/Then. Each of those GWT triplets is a transition of a state machine. A full suite of Gherkin triplets is a formal description of the finite state machine that represents the behavior of the application.
Other formalisms that matter are things like module dependency graphs, testing constraints, complexity constraints, and many others.
This step up the semantic expression ladder provides you with an enormous amount of options. But you'd better choose those options wisely!

it's pretty funny to me that Mythos is capable of hacking entire nation states but it still couldn't fix the terminal-flashing bug in Claude Code

a lot of people don't know this but there's two types of oil, brent and crude, so when it goes up like hundreds of bips, which is like a part of a percent, it's so insane because you don't really see that in a normal...

Why don’t they just tokenize the oil in the Middle East and transport it across permissionless financial rails, thereby avoiding the Strait of Hormuz altogether

Anthropic can train on your code without permission but did you ask Anthropic for permission to train on code you wrote with Claude Code?

Pretty funny that after all that ink spilled by the LessWrong rationalists, the two things that finally moved public consciousness on AI safety were an LLM-generated slop-post by a fraudulent startup founder and a weekend sci-fi primer from a financial analyst. The world is run by the bold and the epistemically brazen never forget that bucko
