It was an honor to be featured in this lovely compilation! Get yours at bookshop.org/p/books/when-i-… and send it to a new teacher you have great hope for! ❤️
I interrupt my Twitter silence to honor a connection made her with @Stephanie_Malia and her beautiful book bookshop.org/p/books/whole-c…. It will get a place of honor on my shelf and I will ALWAYS make my profiles in pencil forever more! ✏️

Today, on behalf of the Civics Commission, I sent a letter to the Board of Education expressing our disappointment with the way the History SOL Standards have been handled and hoping that they will adopt the recommendations made by the @AHAhistorians @VASCD and @theVaSSLC.

Tonight I heard one of my former students speak at the School Board. It was everything a civics teacher could dream of. She was eloquent, respectful, passionate, clear, intelligent, and confident. What a privilege to witness and feel pride.
