Today is #WomenInScienceDay, so I wanted to showcase #WhatAScientistLooksLike in my case. Most non-academic people think that a scientist is what you see in the movies with a white coat and a microscope 👩🔬 but that's not the case for me! 1/n
Today is #InternationalDayOfWomenAndGirlsInScience and we’re showcasing the diverse #WomenInScience playing a significant role in our #IBD research @sangerinstitute.
Super proud of what my colleagues achieve and so honoured to be working alongside them! andersonlab.info/blog

To celebrate #WorldIBDDay, here is some fantastic artwork by Harriet Banks, a student in my group @sangerinstitute, showing folks in our wet lab processing gut biopsies, kindly donated by patients, for #scRNAseq. We use the data to gain novel insights into the biology of IBD.
This evening @fowkc and I ran a pub quiz and “Technical Challenge” to kick off the gliding clubs flying week. Very much surprised by, and enjoyed, the enthusiasm over our paper glider challenge! Winning glide 71ft/5.15sec.
This #WomenInScience is late in the lab dissociating fresh human gut biopsies for @10xGenomics #scRNAseq - the first step in the journey these samples take in aiding our understanding of #IBD

We spent two days filming lab processes for an outreach activity - great fun, loved working with Laura and would happily do it all again!
