New in v64: MCP and CLI usage analytics 🔍 AI governance keeps growing. See which AI clients connect, which tools they call, who’s behind each call, and what failed, for both MCP and the CLI.

New in v64: Transforms improvements 🔁 Transforms turn your raw data into clean, ready-to-query tables, right from Metabase. Now with indexes that survive every rebuild, lookback windows for late-arriving data, and one-click reruns of everything upstream or downstream.

AI writes SQL for everyone now, which didn't remove the analytics bottleneck so much as move it from querying to verification. Here's how to build the semantic layer that clears it: buff.ly/7ERW4D9

New in v64: More AI providers for Metabot 🧺 Pick where your AI runs: a hosted provider, your cloud, or your own vLLM server. Self-host, and nothing leaves your network.

Best way to do this is give a readonly mcp access of @metabase and you will just love to explore prod data and build new dashboards easily.
If you can, supply your coding agents with a read-only user to your prod DB, ideally a read replica. You’d be surprised how much more effective this will make the implementation and testing journey when the agent can look at and verify prod DB data (safely).

Releases are how new features and fixes reach you. They also used to be a pain to ship. Then one of our engineers got too lazy to keep doing it by hand. Manual checklist every two weeks → fully automated patch every day.

Spent the past 2 days building my own custom charts on Metabase borrowing ideas from d3.js. The free tier capped my visualizations, so I stopped waiting and started building. @metabase

BI migrations suck. They suck less if you audit first, agree on your metric definitions once, and tell people what's coming.
