I am all for Youth Mobility.
But that’s because I believe in lifelong Freedom of Movement for all ages. @SaveFOM
There is no difference between a 27 year old who *wasn’t allowed to vote* and a 29 year old who *was*.
Both had their rights taken away and did not consent to that.

There is more death & harm caused by having too many urg(emerg) surg units with staff spread too thinly vs patients travelling further to bigger units/teams. No-one will advertise these harms. Also, too many urg centres=less efficient electives & more harm/death on waiting lists.

I’ve spent the week slowly reading through the latest module from the Covid Enquiry.
The pandemic was the reason I stepped back into local politics. I saw the failures that happened to local elderly people & people with disabilities.
Sadly we are still being failed

J.K. Rowling, a billionaire funding lawsuits against trans inclusion, says transgender activism is elitist. Apparently, using a public bathroom is a privilege, but bankrolling legal battles against marginalized people is grassroots activism.

Northern Ireland's collapsing health service is a scandal; Stormont knew this would happen - and has allowed it. Vast sums have been paid to temporary staff to prop up a system MLAs admitted a decade ago was unsustainable. Now even that isn’t working.

It’s not fit for purpose.
Thirteen thousand people faced “absolutely brutal” waits of more than 12 hours in Northern Ireland emergency departments in just one month, latest figures show.

Modelling conducted as part of the Dept of Infrastructure’s transport plan for Belfast suggests it will increase overall travel times on strategic routes, compared to a ‘do minimum’ scenario, but will improve bus journey times ie. Car journeys become slower, bus quicker.
On the plus side @bbc5live did a report from a human rights master in the West Bank and the internal gates now closed, preventing freedom of movement. Detailed the human rights breaches and deaths happening daily.

A good article in @TheDetailTV on NI women’s health issues are
A Department of Health spokeswoman said that “Women’s health is a key area of focus for both the Health Minister and the Department, with work continuing across the system to improve services.”
Little sign of it!

Exactly a year today @SJAMcBride for the launch, every prediction has come true and service hasn’t changed.
Nowhere more obvious than GP to be so fundamental to new model, to prevention and proactive care and to shift to out of hospital care, but has instead been decimated

A decade ago today, Prof Rafael Bengoa delivered his seminal health report; much has been ignored.
📉Then, 226,000 people were waiting for outpatient treatment; now 527,000 are.
🔻Then, 67% of patients referred for urgent cancer treatment got started in 62 days; now just 28% do.

Ehh, no. Nobody is in a flap about the numbers. The question is WTF was that all about?
Given the weather, 3,000 would have been a respectable turnout. But the desperate need to inflate the crowd with clearly AI-generated images is just embarrassing. Grow up, FFS.
And since when did questioning crowd figures become an attack on democracy? Democracy also means being entitled to ask what the hell the rally actually achieved.
Beyond a few speeches, recycled grievances, a flatbed truck and the usual “No Surrender” theatrics, what was the point? What was the plan? What happens next?
You can exaggerate a crowd all you like. You still can’t manufacture a political strategy. Nonsense
