It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

Today, 41 OSCE member States, including 🇦🇱 have activated the Moscow Mechanism, a crucial instrument for the protection of human rights. 🎯 The goal is clear: to document the indoctrination and militarization of Ukrainian children by Russia. This is the sixth activation of the Moscow Mechanism since February 2022. The “Moscow Mechanism” is one of the OSCE’s main instruments for the protection of human rights. It may be activated when there are indications of serious breaches in a participating State, at the initiative of at least ten other States. A mission of independent experts is then mandated to gather testimonies, establish facts on the ground and make recommendations.

2 states. 3 centuries. 5 values: freedom, equality, unity, reform, courage. Today marks 235 years of the May 3 Constitution (1791) – Europe’s first and the world’s second. A bold Polish–Lithuanian pact for a modern, sovereign state. Its message endures: the state begins with us.

Third, it is on the other hand standard practice for the OSCE Secretariat to circulate final reports from Heads of Mission to all pS several days before they are presented formally to the Permanent Council in Vienna 4/4

The first of the messages allegedly sent by Jelena Đukanović & attached to your post refers to one of my reports to OSCE participating States (pS) as Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo. However, the message is strangely ill informed if coming from an OSCE Mission Member 1/4
Here’s why the spy Jelena Gjukanović should face life imprisonment. Because what’s coming to light is not an isolated case, but clear evidence of a continuous Serbian strategy to manipulate the truth about Kosovo. Read the phone messages below. She communicated with agents of BIA, who gave her direct instructions on how international reports should be written, how narratives should be constructed, how actions of the Kosovo Police should be framed as “attacks”..... a pure propaganda disguised as reporting. This is exactly what Serbia has always done... distorting reality, fabricating stories and pushing them in the international arena as facts. And the worst part? Too often, it has worked. Kosovo has faced pressure, injustice and even unfair EU measures, precisely because of these manufactured narratives. This is a part of a wider disinformation machinery aimed at portraying Kosovo as the problem and Serbia as the victim. That’s why this case must be treated with maximum seriousness and reflect on the reality in Balkans. Justice isn’t just about punishment, its about sending a clear message that this kind of manipulation and propaganda wont be tolerated anymore.  #KosovoCourt #JelenaGjukanovic #UN #Disinformation #BIA #SerbiaPropaganda @albinkurti @EjupMaqedonci @albulenahaxhiu_ @VjosaOsmaniPRKS @POTUS @realDonaldTrump @SecRubio @USAmbKosovo @GermanyDiplo @ItalyinKosovo @UKinKosovo @EUKosovo @UNDP_Kosovo @EULEXKosovo @UN @aliciakearns @bueti @MiRo_SPD @AndrejPlenkovic @i_videnovic @kajakallas @MartaKosEU @vonderleyen @eucopresident @EmmanuelMacron @Keir_Starmer @_FriedrichMerz @GiorgiaMeloni @BajramBegajAL @elisaspiropali @shkamberi @HarryBajraktari @DorisPack2 @DanielSerwer @iskhoctopus @gurakuqkuqi @agim_musliu @balvarezvillar @SecGenNATO @AstritZemaj @Jasonforpeace @rtklivecom @BBCWorld @BalkanInsight 👇👇👇👇

“Some random country”? 457 British service personnel died fighting alongside the US in Afghanistan. 179 died in Iraq. This is another moment of profound national shame for the US. #LestWeForget 🇬🇧
Bad news for Starmer and Macron. Vance confirms the only US security guarantee in Ukraine will be the mineral deal. He also plays down British & French peacekeeping troops as “20k troops from some random country that hasn’t fought a war in 30 or 40 years”.
