What is TMLR doing under a 300% increase in submissions?
- Suspensions of >150 authors
- Publicly naming major violations

In between 'leaving' and 'returning to' Twitter over the past however long, I have mostly stopped 'blogging'. Conversely, I have started writing up various bits and pieces as marginally more formal documents, to be found on my website at sites.google.com/view/sp-mon….

In the 1960s, Christopher Zeeman helped popularize catastrophe theory. It was all the rage; people called on it to describe everything from bridge collapses to prison riots to regime changes. The hype soon fizzled. But the underlying concepts didn’t. quantamagazine.org/the-math-…
Tomorrow I’ll be speaking at #SMPS2026 in Lecce (just 15 miles from my hometown!) about the connections between conformal prediction and imprecise probabilities. Let’s chat if you’re around :)

"What is mathematics now, and what should it be?" (by Jeremy Avigad): arxiv.org/abs/2608.23218
Happy to share a rather unusual new preprint of mine, arxiv.org/abs/2608.15337 My interest was sparked by stimulating discussions with colleagues, that made me think how imprecise probabilities can be beneficial in settling a question in the field of combustion. 1/10
One aspect of this project I find especially exciting is seeing ideas developed in imprecise probability become useful in resolving an open problem in mathematical analysis, which I guess it's almost a first (the friends from @SIPTAtweets can correct me if I'm wrong). 9/10
