To my 8-year old self...
You waited with tremendous anticipation for a brand-new science fiction television series: Space: 1999. That debut in 1975 came on a warm summer evening after a wonderful day of swimming with family and friends--and the memories of the brilliantly colorful sunset are still in your 2026 self's memories.
The show's marketing and advertising have prepared you for something VERY special. And there will be NO disappointments. This is not Star Trek, nor UFO, nor any other series seen to date. It will be unique and captivating.
The "science" aspects of the show may not be plausible. Even at your young age, you will think about this. The horror elements will not always be easy to witness. The scripts will have issues, but remain largely entertaining and thought-provoking. I know you will see the potential of what the series could/can be... and that optimism added numerous layers of enjoyment to every viewing. And, yes, you enjoyed Year One as much as Year Two -- and still do. (I'm sorry to say the series has only two seasons, spanning 1975 to 1977.)
You will delight at a Charlton comic book which you pay for yourself--and includes artwork by an ultra-talented artist named John Byrne. And yes, you still have your copy in near-mint condition.
You will get an amazing Christmas present from Mom and Dad made by Mattel. And two versions of that epic stun gun.
And someday, you will have models and treasured replicas of ships and accessories from the series.
Decades later, you will own copies of the entire series, including some very special works which were created after the series. You will launch a website to honor the show (Space1999.org). You will be professionally published in an officially licensed Space: 1999 novel ("Shepherd Moon") by Powys Media AND you will publish your first Space: 1999 novel ("What Lies Beneath"). And God willing, you'll eventually publish your other novel ("What Lies Beyond"). And you'll own and read (and re-read) some of the best-ever Space: 1999 stories courtesy of Powys Media, including from two of your favorite authors whom you will call friends.
You will befriend several of the cast and crew. In particular, at the MainMission:2000 convention in New York, you will be thoroughly delighted and humbled as Johnny Byrne comes up to you upon entering, recognizing you despite us never having met before, and immediately pulls you back into the green room... to sit closely together to engage directly with Christopher Penfold, Keith Wilson, Barry Morse (such a keen intellect!!) in a couple of hours of incredible, private group conversations as other actors and production members eventually join us, moreso to say hello, or stay briefly and join in.
It will be the most surreal and wonderfully heartfelt, memorable moments, to which Johnny will lean over and share comments with you here and there, spanning a weekend where such conversations continue. Thus beginning a friendship which he initiated--and I cannot give full measure to how special that was. (You are very missed, Johnny. Can only imagine how much Sandy and the boys still miss you.) And the cool part? He touched the lives of MANY like that with his wit, wisdom and sincere charm. Truly a remarkable soul. Among other wonderful people, too.
And the grandest revelation of all?
As an adult, you're an Executive Producer on the 50th episode of Space: 1999! The episode is called "Return to Moonbase Alpha" which debuts at the Manchester: 1999 convention in the U.K. TODAY (13 Sep 2026)! I won't spoil what happens, as you have two years of episodic enjoyment in front of you. At this time, some of the actors and crew have sadly passed away in real life. But some of your television heroes (and their offspring) from Space: 1999 WILL be part of this legacy episode. And this story foretells more optimism for a series known for its horror elements--at least in this pivotal episode! The Future is Fantastic!

Congratulations #SaveStargate team... 👏👏
The petition has crossed 125,000 signatures! Well done! And before you ask, yes, this does have an impact. It proves to Amazon/MGM that we are still here and still waiting for a new show that will honor the Five Pillars of Stargate.
If you haven't signed the petition yet, now is a great time! If you have signed the petition, thank you! You are making a difference.

Good morning/afternoon, future “Stargate” viewers (and to the fam, too) Demand from Amazon nothing less than an in-canon, in-tv universe series, preferably with the OG creatives. If not that, the very LEAST they can give us is 🚫 #NoReboot🚫 #SaveStargate
Good morning, future Vault Dwellers! Please Stand By for an important announcement. Fallout Shelter: The Experiment — an all-new competition series — arrives January 13, only on @PrimeVideo.

Second Mission: The Delivery (Part 1.3) - "The Crossing" #Amalgaverse
The jumper leaves the shuttlebay and swings toward the cruiser. The black hole’s pull keeps dragging it off its line, and O’Neill has to keep correcting to hold course.
Data informs Jack: “Colonel, I am detecting fourteen fragments of debris from the cruiser’s damaged thrusters on an intercept course.”
“Shields gonna hold?” asks Jack.
“Without a doubt,” responds Data. “Provided we do not hit anything.”
Jack considers this, then shoots Data a look: “Was that a joke?”
“More of a wry observation,” answers Data. A beat. “Colonel Carter says my timing is improving.”
“Here’s a tip for you,”says Jack. "Never take comedy advice from someone who tells physics jokes.”
Data, deadpan: “I am reading a book about anti-gravity. It is impossible to put down.”
Jack sighs. “Gonna have a talk with Carter when we get back."
How to proceed?
A) Punch through. Ride the shields and take the hits to save time, but at the risk of damaging the jumper.
B) Thread it slow. Plot a course around the debris while the cruiser drifts ever closer to the event horizon.
C) Clear a path. Launch drones to blast the wreckage, but every drone you spend now is one fewer you’ll have later.

The “Stargate” fandom’s master plan is to ensure that the next “SG” series you produce is in-canon, in tv show universe, and ultimately something that’s as watchable (& likable) for existing fans as well as the elusive “modern audience” you’re chasing #SaveStargate #NoReboot 🚫

Some people don’t get why Stårgåte fans are frustrated. Some even question why we’re still fighting for it.
We've supported this franchise for decades. Through conventions, rewatches, merchandise, campaigns, and years of waiting, we've kept the gåte spinning long after the television series ended.
There was excitement when @AmazonMGMStudio announced Martin Gero's new Stårgåte series. Finally, there was something from the original writers in the works. Then all of a sudden, reports of cancellation along with uncertainty and corporate silence.
Yet, as of today, October 21, 2026, Amazon's OWN OFFICIAL WEBSITE still identifies Martin Gero as the writer and showrunner, with Brad Wright and Joe Mallozzi listed as consulting producers!
Seriously, Amazon?
You own one of the most legendary, groundbreaking, critically acclaimed, fan-fueled, genre-defining science-fiction franchises in the HISTORY OF TELEVISION! A franchise that helped shape an entire generation of sci-fi fans! And yet, apparently, nobody at @AmazonMGMStudio can manage to update a bloody webpage?!
This level of corporate incompetence would be embarrassing for a neighborhood video rental store, let alone @AmazonMGMStudio !
And here's the kicker.
Variety has already reported on Jac Schaeffer and the new writers' room. Yet where's Amazon's official confirmation? A statement? An explanation? Anything?
For a franchise built around exploration, intelligence, communication, and continuity, the corporation entrusted with its future apparently lacks the basic competence to manage its own communications. I've lost confidence in its ability to manage Stårgåte's future.
After months of fans asking perfectly reasonable questions, the continued silence clearly shows Amazon doesn't give a damn about the people who've helped keep Stårgåte alive. Zero transparency and no respect (Rodney Dangerfield).
If that webpage suddenly gets updated after it's been called out, that doesn't erase the embarrassment. It only raises the question of why it took so long.
The Stårgåte has been inactive for years. Judging by the total radio silence, Amazon’s communications team has been competing with it.
