I've been really excited about supporting TypeSafe bc they remind me a lot of early Modal:
- actually new, interesting idea
- that's executed really well
- with tasteful packaging (great design, onboarding flow, docs, etc)
Also: I'm glad we care about model calibration again!
100% @modal 👑 arming the jevolution with GPUs. Y'all have been the best this week.

If you’re wondering how Jev is scaling to meet insane demand they could not possibly have predicted, the answer appears to be @modal — one of only 4 subprocessors listed on trust.typesafe.ai
what happened to the @justsayinmice account i feel like we need a ruling on this one
They deleted most of a mouse's cortex before it was born, filled the empty skull with human neurons, and the mouse walked, learned and remembered

Coding is solved now, but also you still can't change the email address associated with an Anthropic account

yes, working at @modal is as fun as it seems.
we are casting 35 more roles across new york, san francisco, and stockholm. one could be yours !

People sometimes tell me that eCDF plots are hard to interpret. I don't think you'll have that problem with the one in this post:
Replying to @modal
Modal's always offered incredibly sophisticated container orchestration, networking, and filesystem performance.
Now we're adding state-of-the art inference optimization too.
And we made the interface even simpler?
modal endpoint create --model zai-org/GLM-5.2-FP8
Modal Auto Endpoints provide state-of-the-art open source inference perf with a click.
Learn how we developed our low latency inference playbook with @DecagonAI, delivering responses 60ms faster than the best proprietary provider.

I have spent the last year in the weeds with teams running open LLM inference on Modal.
Modal was already the best place to do this: truly elastic GPUs, fast cold starts, low-overhead routing, and deep observability.
Very excited to raise the bar even higher today.
Auto Endpoints package the Modal inference stack into one command:
modal endpoint create --name agent --model zai-org/GLM-5.2-FP8
Thinking back to when Modal was just a small team in a We Work, I both couldn't have imagined getting to this point and also wouldn't have doubted it. @bernhardsson and @akshat_b have the perfect balance of vision and execution to make it happen.
Today we're announcing our Series C funding: $355M at a $4.65B valuation, led by some great investors @generalcatalyst and @Redpoint.
We've had insane growth in the last year, but we're still very early. So proud of the team and what we have built so far!
There's still tons to do and I'm hiring for multiple roles, so get in touch if you want to help build the future: modal.com/careers

Raising $ is cool. What’s even cooler is getting to work every day with this incredible group of humans.
We like solving hard problems and building things we can be proud of. If this is you, come join us! We’re just getting started :)

Many people don’t know that before there was Modal, there was Polyester, a vision to solve “any data problem” through better infrastructure. Specifically, @bernhardsson and @akshat_b believed that most infrastructure delivered scalability and reliability, but sacrificed developer productivity. They believed data and AI teams deserved amazing tools and workflows that could turbocharge them. The entry point to deliver this vision was clear: figure out how to run code.
6 years later, that vision hasn’t really changed. Yes, the needs of AI engineers are evolving every single day. Yes, they need even more scalable, more reliable, more performant systems. But Modal’s commitment remains the same: give data and AI folks tools that feel good and make them deliver deeper impact faster.
Proud that I convinced them to change the name; proud that they raised a sh#t ton of cash; proud that every time Erik shares a revenue plan, I balk, and then he beats it by over 100%, and grateful to learn from Erik, Akshat, and the Modal team throughout this journey.
