I’m incredibly disappointed that Attorney General Drummond ruled that Oklahoma County can disregard the OKC City Council permit process and build a jail wherever they choose to. I’m proud of how this community fought back - both Del City and Mid-Del as a whole. #mdpurpose 1/3
First day of school - 33rd year in #oklaed and 11th year as superintendent #MDpurpose
In 2015, we had a chance to sit down with former Gov. George Nigh at the OK. History Center. I can't find the audio from that conversation, but he told us a lively story of "Oklahoma" becoming our state song. This article captures it well. RIP Governor. okhistory.org/learn/musical4

As the recently retired superintendent of Bixby Public Schools, I can attest that eliminating every administrative position in the district would not adequately fund Supt Walters' mandate, which could cost upwards of $5 million annually in Bixby alone.

Sometimes we lose our direction, our sense of purpose, and our WHY.
Maybe, just maybe, reading this will help to restore that for you.

Usually at the end of year celebration, I’m helping to give out honors. It feels pretty good getting my ten year certificate. This is longest I’ve stayed in the same place, and it’s no accident. There’s truly something special about Mid-Del. #MDpurpose #OneDistrictOneFamily

This morning in Midwest City, many of our Mid-Del students, principals, administrators, and board members gathered at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Prayer Breakfast. It was an incredibly inspiring event that brought our community together to honor Dr. King's legacy.

Listen to the students. They started today with curiosity about last week’s weather decisions. Fair. Then we had a robust discussion about what SHOULD be required for high school graduation. I think an advocacy trip to the Legislature is in their future. #MDpurpose
Today, @middelsupt met with his Student Advisory Board—made up of outstanding juniors and seniors from all three high schools—to discuss graduation requirements and the exciting course offerings they’d like to see in the future. #StudentVoices #mdpurpose
City leaders, school board members, and concerned residents got involved, spoke passionately, and were resoundingly ignored. We’ll remember who fought with us. We’ll remember who didn’t as well. #mdpurpose 2/3

If you want to read the entire ruling by AG Drummond, it’s six pages of tortured logic. The TLDR of it is that building a jail is just too important to let little things like intergovernmental cooperation (or lack thereof) get in the way. #mdpurpose 3/3
